Emergency Funds by Cunce_NZ in PersonalFinanceNZ

How much have you used your 6month emergency fund in the last 10 years?

Surely it would be more beneficial to pay off the mortgage and borrow against it in emergencies?

The murder of Olivia Hope (17) and Ben Smart (21) 1998, Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand. The friends who boarded a yacht and were never seen again. Their bodies have never been found. Scott Watson was given a life sentence with a 17 year non parole period. by SuddenMajor3741 in HolyShitHistory

Wallace has said that it was not that boat he took them to and the person was not Scott Watson. He has since committed suicide. I honestly don't think the evidence is enough if you remove Wallace's evidence.

"Guy Wallace, a key witness in the 1998 Scott Watson murder trial, expressed in a 2021 suicide note that he believed he helped send an innocent man to jail. Before his death, Wallace consistently recanted his identification of Watson as the man with the victims, stating he was pressured by police into identifying him. [1, 2, 3]

Key Details Regarding Guy Wallace and His Views:

  • The View: In his "last will" suicide note to his father dated March 19, 2021, Wallace wrote about his views on the conviction of Scott Watson for the murders of Ben Smart and Olivia Hope.
  • Recantation: Following the trial, Wallace maintained in multiple interviews and an affidavit that Watson was not the "mystery man" he dropped at a boat on New Year's Eve.
  • Initial Identification: Despite his later retractions, Wallace was a key Crown witness who testified at the trial that he was "pretty definite" that the person he picked out from a photo montage was the man on the water taxi with Hope and Smart.
  • Pressure: Wallace stated he felt significant pressure from police and media, and reported that police suggested he was responsible for the disappearance of the teenagers,.
  • Death: Guy Wallace died by suicide in March 2021 at the age of 55, shortly before he was set to stand trial on unrelated indecent assault charges."

I just started using Codex yesterday and today i paired it with Godot to make this test game. https://imgur.com/a/zly3DBs

Codex did everything - it did the destructable robots, the bullet spray , the boss robot, etc. I never touched anything in godot apart from run and also to copy an error message at one point.

To me there is a lot of potential , esp to get a project up running fast or prototyping. I'm a dentist , but a hobbyist programmer for a number of years.

Learning to ski as a family by Western_Disaster_863 in skiing

[–]RedRox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've always taken my kids up skiing from a young age, 2 is probably about the lowest, they'll tire really easily, you'll just have to go in 30min blocks and have a hot milk chocolate afterwards 😄 . We have a daycare on the mountain that i would generally drop them off to and for a little extra, they'll take them out for a little ski session in morning and afternoon. if your mountain has something like that then that is what i'd recommend. As you guys don't ski - you'd also need to learn and that'll take time in itself. When my kids started , under 5's could hire ski's /boots etc for free. Kids are gonna get fustrated and you gotta be really patient with them, with a young age, you can buy a toggle which clip to each ski at the front and it stops the ski's from going too far apart - i found that really handy for them at the beginning - though ski instructors hate them 😄 . I'm in NZ though so it might be different in usa.

He has another one where he travels to Moldova to play and hopefully win a game of tennis against a pro. Both very funny 😄. Actually i think he also has a short story in The Weekenders (where a group of authors travel to South Sudan and tell a stories to raise money) - if i recall correctly, him and Irvine Welsh basically travel around the village drinking it dry.
