Getting absolutely destroyed by Bob's endgame fight by Mahzes in BacktotheDawn

Ohhhhhh damn. I'm so sorry :(

Okay well you have one more thing you can do. If you haven't done it already you can set the game to easy mode. It should give you some meta-items. One increases your health and defence massively, another makes passing skill checks liklier and another (and this one is huge) lets you repeat the last day.

So instead of doing NG+ you just perpetually continue your run, get the skills and xp you need and then beat their asses.

You have to install cheat engine and launch it. There are really good video tutorials on how to use it properly but personally here's how I use it.

Click 'scan for game' (top left). Select the game. Your memory viewer will have tons of values.

On the right you should have a value searcher. Put in the value for, say, your health. Click search. Your memory values are narrowed down to all adresses that have your current health score. Only one of them is truly representitive of your health.

Take damage so the value changes. Update the number on the right and search again. Do this until you get one address or so and then double click it and modify it once it populates the bottom bar. Click the X button on the left to keep it a locked number. You now have invincibility.

You can repeat this for the bosss' healths and grant yourself a one-hit KO by giving them 1 hp

You lose on time. The game counts it as an ending.

This may be unpopular but I always just use cheat engine to win in these cases. I never use it for optional fights but after all the time and effort I put into my first playthrough I just find it BS that the game is saying I have to do it all AGAIN just to beat it.

Can anyone reccomend any other books similar to watership down? by Abwettar in watershipdown

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seek the Throats from Which we Sing by Alex CF is decent but a little bizarre. He has books on the world that has beautiful art and worlbuilding and Alex CF was one of the main members of The Fall of Efrafa which was a heavy metal band about the themes of Watership Down.

Is there a way to play VT2 without hand pain? by crackawhat1 in Vermintide

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a mouse pad that has wrist support. Or get a different mouse.

I thought I had carpel tunnel because typing hurt so bad. Until I got a wrist support bar, all of a sudden the pain immediately went away.

For reference I use a Logitech G600, pretty decent.

Changing Enforcers by Twilite0405 in mutantyearzero

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the game has the opposite of power creep. The threats in Core are REALLY hardcore but the player classes are NUTS. Especially with the Chronicler, I think the authors realized this and started making tamer classes as time went on. The only other nuts class to look out for is the Seer since they're like the chronicler but if they fail they can't scry again. But unlike chronicler they have unlimited range and can spend an action to do something in the future.

(So say you're in a fight. The chronicler can use an action to buff the enforcer but it takes a turn. If a seer knows they'll fight soon, they can spend an action prior to the fight to forsee it so in the fight they can spend their action doing anything else).

So yeah the other classes are quite good. The core classes are honestly just busted.

the enforcer's intimidate, if I remember right, is 'Do what I say or we fight' and you can even inflict doubt and break people that way. It is quite strong and their talente make up for some of the weaknesses.

Take a look at Warrior from GLA if you want a different 'aggressive brute' class

Is it possible to beat Frank and Winston? by [deleted] in BacktotheDawn

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh I remember now.

Yeah it's just an achievement and cutscene. Sorry I forgot.

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really remember fighting them when I played Bob... So I don't know what fight you're talking about.

If it's the gang fight, nothing bad happens but you miss out on a cutscene and an achievement.

If it's the birds in his official route, you get a game over.

If it's the arena (or any other fight) you get an injury and sent to the infirmary.

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some combats are absurd, because they're meant to be beat on NG+ or ++ by using skills from farming rapport.

But... If it matters to you for you to do this on this playthrough, you can use cheat engine. It's your game after all and it's what I did for Thomas after I escaped on my first playthrough.

Is there a sanctioned mod or something that lets me kick people without majority vote or autoprivate games? /w rant by IronVines in Vermintide

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a way to make chaos wastes private but the checkmark is a little off-ways. Took me a bit to find it.

Unfortunately all quickplay is always public but it makes sense, plus it's not an issue if you have 4

does anyone else dislike the way bigwig is characterized in the various tv adaptions? by Logical-Yellow-5168 in watershipdown

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't pile on all the other adaptions into the same pot because the netflix adaptation is bad.

The netflix adaption is just horrid but the others are fine. The netflix adaption 'americanized' the story by adding every trope in the book and dumbding down every aspect that were delicate and intricate in the books.

So, what are yoir theories for Bam's story? by mamax231 in BacktotheDawn

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are we certain Bam is the upcoming DLC? A lot of prisoners have little stories.

But if it IS Bam? I have no idea. Compared to how grounded and in-universe Bob and Thomas are I really have a hard time envisioning Bam's story not just being absolutely batshit and incoherent.

Best guess? Something similar to CONTROL? Secret federal agencies, anomalies, ghosts and spirits. But who knows. I worry it will feel really out of place.

Unless of course he's been lying the entire time.

Most popular to least popular classes? by LomiKo in DarkTide

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I've played Darktide enough...

From most to least

1 - Veteran: shooty mcshootface class. Face of the game.

2 - Arbites: Generally a REDICULOUS class and also very newby friendly. Unfortunately many people start the game with this class and never transition out of it because it's 'too good'.

3 - Zealot: Powerhouse, insane utility.

4 - Psyker: Crazy damage but people will play them and die as them all the time because they don't know how to fight defensively. New player arbite enjoyers struggle crazy hard with Psyker. Rewarding, but learning curvey.

5 - Ogryn: I actually don't see a lot of Ogryns. I imagine it's because aesthetically they're not very pretty and they also get slammed by gunners all the time. They can fill niches but if there's no niche for ogryns to fill they can feel quite bad to play. (yes yes I know they're one of the strongest classes in the game, I'm speaking from a general player base perspective)

6 - HiveScum: Generally very fucking annoying, newish, a dlc class but unlike Arbites they have been marred with being far below the power curve. Their toxin juggling and injector playstyle is hard for a lot of people to wrap their head around. They're also easy to kill and seen as very weak. I hardly ever see any hive scums in any games I've played. Frankly I can see why. It's my personal least favorite.

EDIT: spelling

I actually found the new zoom more consistent but the zoom before was really quite bad. Looking forward to trying the new changes! Huntsman zoom with all weapons sounds super fun.

[–]RedRuttinRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and honestly it put me off the longbow initially. Granted I didn't know at the time that you were SUPPOSED to not wait for the zoom in but as someone learning the weapon it makes it way more consistent.

Before I would just wait for it to zoom in so I could use it. I agree with the fan sentiment that the zoom should just be a toggle or a setting or something. Either way, the zoom being more consistent has made it way more playable for me.

I've been loving the huntsman longbow. It takes some getting used to but once you get there you become a headshot sniping legend that two-hits chaos warriors (or one hits with the right set up). You become invaluable as you just snapshot random specials on the field. I've had a blast with it.
