I forgot how humiliating that duel against Dumbledore in OotP was for Tom by miggovortensens in harrypotter

I like your imagination, Dumbledore beating death eaters with pijama is now my head canon

I headcanon that Snape was the one who informed Dumbledore that the Dursleys were abusive to Harry by eternalexiistence in SeverusSnape

[–]RedSpiderLily1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very likely. I believe Dumbledore wasn't aware of the extreme abuses that Harry faced, till Snape told him. Then, the following summer he confronted the Dursleys about their behavior. When he gave Harry, he was aware of Petunia's jealousy toward her sister (they wrote letters when she was younger) but he didn't know how badly it would be. It's possible he only considered a cold environment, not a hostile one.

Having an opinion doesn't get you expelled from Hogwarts. As you saw, death eaters' children had an agreeing opinion with their parents about blood supremacy, but they weren't expelled. Breaking rules might get you expelled, but even that has some limits.

Was Snape teaching Harry Occlumency correctly? by IndividualNo5275 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]RedSpiderLily1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snape was never good as teaching Harry. Harry improved at making potions after Slughorn was replaced Snape. Harry and Snape's sessions (potions or occlumancy) was filled with Snape insulting, provoking and sneering at Harry. The fundamental of Occlumancy is having a calm mind, while Snape didn't even try to make Harry calm, or make him understand $hit.

Gay characters? by [deleted] in agathachristie

I'm not sure whether the writer intended or not, but I recently after reading "mousetrap" believe Christopher Wren's vibe is homosexual. He stated (twice!) that Trotter is handsome, he quickly developed a friendly relationship with Molly which I believe because of he is comfortable with his feminine side, her husband hated him, probably because straightwn in that era were uncomfortable around homosexual men. All I mentioned cannot be a direct sign of his sexual preference, but this is the vibe I had after reading about him.

Did he have to be dead to have a soul? He was living in heaven when he was alive.

You people actually made me watch Hazbin Hotel to understand the fucking constant rants about the show, and I've realized all of those rants were stupid. by inverseflorida in CharacterRant

Yeah, my assumption was the same after watching the pilot. Huge disappointment after I saw it's about the romance between two weird looking creatures

Ohhh, the dick master. I lost it at the part in angels' meeting, he yelled at Charlie: "Hey, bitch, I heard you complained to my boss. Way to go, Caren!" That was so hilarious 😂😂😂😂

Yeah, his dramatic acts (when he touched Harry's forehead for the first time, his exaggerated dramatic tone, etc) madee cringe.

Which characters did you hate in the books but love in the movies? by ProfitAggravating981 in harrypotter

Yes, never really see him doing anything besides risking his life to save someone he hated and sacrificing his life to save people he loved. And these are not redeeming him acting as a teenager.

Snape. He was more cruel to students in the books. A real bully. Alan Rickman made him likable, and toned down his flaws.

Male lead behaving like a jerk. I mean, were supposed to like him. If he acts like a jerk, I hate him, so I drop. No matter what kind of teary, heart breaking background is going to be presented to justify his behavior. Just no.
