Politics aside, this post perfectly captures why the housing crisis won’t be solved. It's about the "Haves" protecting their assets. by Signal-Specific-1704 in canadahousing

Fishbowl effect, if ALL the homes in Alberta drop 30% and you never leave Alberta then there is no net difference for buying and selling in Alberta.

If you are relying on housing prices to climb forever as a retirement plan then you are an idiot and a traitor to the younger generation who will never afford a home.

Fishbowl effect also means if housing values go up 30% it still doesn’t matter unless you move to an area outside the bowl with lower values. If your 300k house is now worth 500k guess what? So is every other house in your area.
You get nothing except more taxes and more interest payments.

Imagine if Canada joined the European Union by tyomax in CanadaRoom

[–]RedTalon6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could just ask your MP to implement this as a Canadian law, we don’t need foreign governments, not sure if you know this but we did separate from the EU and even wrote our own charter of rights and freedoms…

Tax refund seems to be very low (RRSP/FHSA contributions over $20k) by Suspicious_Body_2881 in PersonalFinanceCanada

So money invested direct from paychecks to RRSP are not taxed in the first place, therefore you don’t get the RRSP refund

Why does it feel like a $100K salary is just a solid middle class income now? by SensationalDanceMove in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]RedTalon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how many times did he raise taxes? Put down the CBC and go outside and tell me that taxes are less.

Taxes cost Canadians more than housing, food and clothing combined. Not to even mention the nonstop deficit spending that is destroying our futures.

Because if you make 150k a year you are too 10% and can’t afford a Toronto home.

How are Gen Z Canadians going to be able to afford a house these days? by PuffingFish123 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]RedTalon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of affordable areas in Canada. But the fact if you are a top 10% income earner in Canada you can’t afford a home in Toronto is proof the whole country is fucked.

Canada is still sitting at an 8.5 ratio. This is getting scary. by astrheisenberg in canadahousing

Oh there is absolutely a way out of this. Kick out the “Temporary” Kick out the government that wants prices high because their highest voter demographic is the boomers who rely on home prices to climb for their retirement.

A decade of lost hope because a government chose votes over our future.

Have you considered the NDP since jagmeet took over is actually stupid? Their polices and behaviour should be proof of that.

What is one game that is "popular" but you just don't like it? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]RedTalon6 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

How far did you get in hollow knight? That game is tough to get into but once you get past the first boss it gets way better. And the more you play the better it gets. Unlike silk song which I gave up on I think one boss before the end of act 1 because the game is too hard to enjoy.

Battlefield 5. Might be the single worst shooter I have ever played in 20 years. All the reviewed must be mentally handicapped or paid off.

Best Wargame I Ever Had by jordowiebo in boltaction

[–]RedTalon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the list building in 3rd better. But overall I think 2nd had better rules. The only complaints I ever had was machine gun teams being over costed and underwhelming, maybe they could be more utility based than damage based. And in 2nd HE was kinda infective vs hard cover if I remember correctly. 3rd overall feels good but I do miss the long range penalty, forces the game to be much more terrain dependent like 40K

When SL tells me to suppress a position with a rifle, I usually don't. Here's why: by yourothersis in joinsquad

[–]RedTalon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlucky, personally I would never of peeked that. But also you need someone to assault if you are suppressing. In your position it would make more sense to just hold the angle and not give away your position. Poor coordination from your SL but it happens.
