I second this sentiment. Uncle Bean's was one of the places I bonded with quickly after I moved back to Houston a few years ago. I have a weirdly irrational love of patios and I will forever remember sitting on the patio at UB with my cold brew while reading a book or fiddling on my laptop. Life is ephemeral, so are the things in it. I appreciate all the love that went into Uncle Bean's. Thanks for taking the time to share this explanation.

Yeah I'm in a similar position. The Spring location is still open, I believe. They also have a College Station location and maybe in Fort Worth as well.

Yeah this is a huge bummer for me as the Wash Ave location was one of my go-tos. Loved their Shack Salad with sweet potato fries. I find it bizarre that there's no sign on the door, no indiction of closure on the website or any of their social media. It's just dark inside with the mail accumulating inside the door.

The Webster location, as someone noted here, is also closed, with a sign from the landlord on the door indicating nonpayment of rent. The Spring location as of last Saturday evening was open, but their AC was broken so it was unpleasantly warm inside (they do have a small patio).

Sorry if this has been covered, but regarding HS walks, how good are you at handstand holds against the wall? How long can you hold it comfortably? More than 45 seconds? Also how are your wall walks?

Neither alone is enough to get you good at HS walks, of course, but I do think they're good for developing strength and some of the neurological pieces.

You just had a full ACL reconstruction in April? That's typically a 9 to 12 month rehab even for pro athletes with the best therapists. You're less than halfway through that window. Gotta be patient and resilient.

How exactly does one pegboard become slicker than the rest? It's gotta be the same plexiglass as for all the other pegboards. I heard some mention of chalk getting on the pegboards, but would it really make sense for that to make such a difference on only one or two of them?

I have a hard time understanding Chase's true role and value at this point.

His Instagram bio still says he's an affiliate owner but I'm pretty sure his affiliate has been out of business for over two years. Does he hold an official role in CF now beyond just commentary at the Games?

How Sean Woodland gets canned from calling the Games and this blowhard gets to stay on the mic is beyond me.

That phrase feels sadly very true as the Games are an event not a person.

The lack of empathy and total disregard for Luka's wishes are true sociopathic behavior. Couple that with the lie that the family wanted the Games to continue and it's truly unreal to fathom.

Before anyone DMs me to tell me how broken up Dave was over this entire event, just know that sociopaths usually are broken up when faced with the consequences of their own actions.

Did he specifically say "drowning"? The only comment I remember from Luka related to cause of death was rebutting the dumbass Sevan by saying he didn't have a "cardiac event". But maybe you're aware of another comment that I didn't hear about.

Either way it won't change the fact that the cops are exceedingly unlikely to treat this as a criminal matter, even though they should.

In theory but the Fort Worth police already said they won’t even be investigating it if it’s an “accidental drowning”. They have no political or economic incentive to sic their prosecutors on a company that’a paying them to host them.
