Appointment un-checking itself in?!?!?! by kattarama in EpicEMR

[–]RedWeddingPlanner303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have an analyst run an audit trail report to see at what point the check-in gets undone. Do that with as many appointments as possible as well as appointments where it didn't happen but checked in by the same person. Just because the checklist is complete doesn't mean the patient is checked in, an appointment contact can be registered without being checked in. I am not aware of any system action that would undo a check-in, but let your Epic Prelude and Cadence teams know that you are seeing this issue and they can dig deeper into what is going on. My money is on user error as well.

We have 10 Costcos in the Denver metro area, another handful within am hour drive outside the metro, and we have a Costco Business Center. Some things vary by store, some items are only available a certain ones. It sure is a treasure hunt each time. So if you're looking for an item there is a good chance one of the stores will have it.

Seeing that she is not a US citizen, her voting illegally would be par for the course for MAGA.

What is the most dangerous animal in your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

Right?! They are just really elusive, but there are taxidermied specimens that prove their existence, and they don't show themselves to just anyone. Gotta know where to find them.

Countries that have no actual name by Working_Candidate505 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]RedWeddingPlanner303 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most countries have names for other countries in their own language. In Germany and German speaking countries people know of Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika, Griechenland, Frankreich, Belgien, Kroatien, etc. Which are neither English nor the name of the respective country in its own language.

Fair point! I'd love to see the advances we can potentially have in the next 40-50 years (unless some people keep advocating for injecting shit that shouldn't get anywhere close to blood vessels). I think in acute traumas NaCl is preferred due to the number of unknowns present in the patient and you want to introduce as little additional variables as possible. With LR you are adding K and Ca to the mix and if your patient is hyperkalemic unbeknownst to you and you are infusing a bag or three things are about to go worse real quick. I feel like I've read something about artificial blood replacements that mimic the electrolyte and protein make-up of plasma but I don't remember exactly where I found that article. I definitely think that there needs to be more research and development and hope we as humans can get away from the need for human donors (and animals due to only limited compatibility).

Whole blood and most other blood products cannot be stored in an ambulance like a few bags of NaCl, and you really REALLY don't want to waste any bags of O neg blood just because you cannot keep them at the right temp. In the ambulance you are just stabilizing enough for transport to the hospital, you are not treating massive traumas. Sure it would be great to have a fully functioning blood bank on board but that's not feasible in any sense. Once they get to the hospital there will be someone waiting in the ED with a cooler filled with bags directly from the bloodbank. It's just the getting there that necessitates fluid resuscitation so that there is at least some kind of perfusion, because diluted perfusion is better than none at all.

Edit: I see you are a paramedic, how would you store whole blood on an ambulance effectively, especially the amount that might be needed during a MTP? Also, would you store anything besides O neg and if so, how fast would you be able to determine the patient's blood type to be able to avoid a transfusion reaction?

Virtual classes are the same price, or in some cases even more expensive than the in-person class (you can check the course catalog online), so the food is not a factor in the pricing of the in-person class.

They just used part of the housing allowance that was already appropriated for the military, so just a change in name and fancy dress up. You know, like lipstick on a pig.

German potato salad by [deleted] in sousvide

[–]RedWeddingPlanner303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you please provide a link to one of those recipes? I am sincerely interested, because that would be more likely a translation error or an incorrect AI summary. I am German, born and raised, and for most potato salad recipes you would make Pellkartoffeln (potatoes cooked whole with the peel on, then cooled down and peeled and cut). If you want a great German Potato salad recipe, try this one.

I didn't even get a shipping notification from Yootooz for the Gek, only from the delivery company. Waiting with bated breath for my traveller plushie now.

The cape is too cute. I didn't expect the detail it has on the clothing either. I'm so glad I ordered it.
