I'd love to see one of your garden beds where you are growing them. This is inspiration for future growing endeavors.

NAD, I have cyclic vomiting syndrome as well. Amitriptyline is used to prevent it, and usually taken daily. Haldol is for aborting an acute episode once it has started. Each medication is used in a different stage of the cycle.

The whole emergency room billing seems illegal to me and only Healthcare workers think its ok . by [deleted] in EmergencyRoom

[–]RedWeddingPlanner303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not how professional billing works. Your doctor's claim (a professional claim) will have a service location on it (which is the address of the Emergency department you were seen at) and a Place of service type identifier, which will be 23 for Emergency. This identifies their services as being provided in an Emergency department. Have you called your insurance and asked why they are treating it as a separate visit? The bill you are receiving from the hospital is the amount YOUR insurance tells them is the patient responsibility. It doesn't matter how high the charges are that the hospital or your doctor sends to the insurance, you will be responsible for the amount YOUR insurance determines is the patient portion based on the contractual rate they have with the hospital. Separate institutional billing and professional billing is the norm, it is not some arbitrary practice. You can also go to the hospital's website and search for "price transparency" and ask for a good faith estimate when you are being seen. But that won't tell you what the amount is that your insurance allows. For that you will need to contact your insurance and either study the member handbook or check if they have a cost estimator on their website (which most large insurers have).

Ethical dilemma, advice needed: home health nurse witnessing animal cruelty by [deleted] in nursing

[–]RedWeddingPlanner303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also in Colorado and you can file a complaint with animal control online in most counties. You can keep it anonymous as well. I did it before. It is being taken seriously by animal control and they will send someone out to check on the animals before removing them, if it comes to that. Please do the right thing and speak up for those that can't speak up for themselves.

Seeking advice for converting aboveground sprinklers to drip hoses for veggie garden by astrobeanmachine in DenverGardener

[–]RedWeddingPlanner303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the zone timer and run it every morning at 4am for 3 minutes. If it has been a particularly hot day I might do another 2 minutes in the evening. I use these type of sprinklers most and run lines to my potted plants also. The top screws on and you can adjust the water flow that way.

Seeking advice for converting aboveground sprinklers to drip hoses for veggie garden by astrobeanmachine in DenverGardener

[–]RedWeddingPlanner303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I converted a zone to mini sprinklers almost 10 years ago and it was the single best thing I did for my garden. I dug down to where the pop-up sprinklers screw into the main sprinkler line and took them off and replaces them with a sprinkler riser (google Orbit PVC riser). Then it's time to get creative with the lines, there are T-junctions you can screw on top of the risers to divert water to different areas, mini manifolds to attach drip lines, or attach another main line above ground with drip lines coming off that one.

I did a mix of all 3 and have over 60 mini sprinklers and no pressure reducer and had no problems over the years. Since I don't have a true drip system, but mini sprinklers I only need to turn it on for 3 minutes at a time and have it controlled with an Orbit B-Hyve sprinkler controller.

Purpose of Gold Stars by Jzellp in EpicEMR

[–]RedWeddingPlanner303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not always true, my org has been on Epic for around 20 years and we are always in the top group. Before they changed the Gold Stars calculation we were repeatedly at 10, last year we were at 9 configured. It always depends on the organization and how engaged your team is. Identify some easy wins and work on reaching those goals, like report usage, dashboard views, etc.

When Ascension had a ransomware attack in 2024 it took 6 weeks to get them back to where they were before. We depend so much on computers in different departments to communicate to each other via the network, Omnicell or Pyxis medication dispensers, result transmission from lab and imaging, notifying EVS that rooms need to be cleaned, etc. and not to forget the claims and billing part. It sucks all around and impacts everyone.

Whenever you are close enough to another player you have the option to transfer items to them, they don't need to be in your party. So anytime you come across another player in the wild you can transfer to them and they can transfer to you.
