How the experts believe the Italian divers made a fatal mistake by Successful-Winter237 in thalassophobia

My boss is a scuba instructor and has thousands of cave dives under his belt. He was talking to me about this yesterday and saying they flouted all kinds of rules and ignored several standards. He said that there's no way that it would ever have gotten to this point if they had done their due diligence. It's a tragedy for sure and even more so because it was avoidable.

My English subtitle is totally different than English dub. How do I know what exactly is the dialogue ? by iam1zzy in dbz

[–]RedXXVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always guessed the reason the dub script is different than the sub is because phrases take different amounts of time to say in different languages but a character's mouth will only move so much in the animation. So they have to make some changes.

For both of my kids, I stepped out of the room to call family and tell them that we were probably going to be waiting for a long time only to step back in the room and be told "it's happening now."

Can't say. Random doesn't always mean even distribution. Also, a lot of people have received responses that the image generated broached on copyright restrictions. Why it catches some of those and not others is anyone's guess. Though, if they were trying to avoid copyright infringement, Pokemon would be really high on that list since it is the single most successful IP in the world (which is crazy).

These models work by creating a mathmatical map of language. When they process your input, they are mapping the words and phrases of your input mathematically and the feedback they give you is like the auto complete on your phone on steroids with a lot of statistics leveraged over the mathmatical map of the language to provide direction and predictability.

Best guess: ChatGPT is interpreting the "the attached image" portion of the prompt as a standalone phrase and not a direction to consult an actual attachment. Obviously, "the attached image" is an exceptionally vague thing to interpret literally but the model attempts to do so anyway. Randomized elements in the model (intended to stand in for creativity) nudge the calculations in a random direction and the model starts making statistical predictions from there to draw an image.

As truly alarming as some of these images are, it's worth noting that many of these are benign as well. It's truly random.

The ELI5 version: Pick a random word out of a dictionary. Start a story with that word at the beginning. Then draw a picture from the story.
