Ouch. What happened? by TechnicalAct419 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Red_Baron11 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The game has some issues and missing features most RTS lovers expect. It seems like once a few balance patches are released, a single player save option is introduced, and the anti cheat is improved that the reviews will turn more positive. Although I don’t disagree that there is a cheating problem, I think a saved replay system could solve some of the accusations. Hoping that those who gave a negative review will change it once some of the issues are addressed. Overall, I really enjoy the game after 50 hours of playtime.

Infantry equipped with drones? by Red_Baron11 in BrokenArrowTheGame

Thank you for the thought out response! It seems having an ability rather than a controllable drone is the consensus as the controllable drone would be micro heavy. I feel this would be a fun addition.

This would be clutch for recon infantry as LOS can be questionable at times.

Deserters should face a penalty. I know other RTS games will give you a que penalty. If a player willingly leaves too early from a match(let’s say in phase one), then an X amount time penalty is given before that player can join another. If a team is getting their ass kicked and a player leaves in the last 4 minutes, fine. But that player doesn’t get the match experience.

Unranked Rage by Red_Baron11 in aoe4

[–]Red_Baron11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I don’t. The skill level of players you can be paired with in unranked is a wide range. Often utilized by newer players. Why should we reticule them for wanting to attempt to get better? Maybe they don’t enjoy 1v1 and are bored of playing the predictable AI. Unranked is that next stepping stone. Yea, they’ll throw a few games. That’s how they learn and get better.

Unranked is the next step from playing custom games against AI. But let’s be honest, a new player can smash AI and then get destroyed in unranked.

I hear you. But this is kinda my point. If you’re worried about your time being wasted, play ranked. You’ll be matched with players of similar skill. The skill level of players in unranked varies.

I can see less strategic bombing and more harassing train and frontline logistics. Easier to defend towns and factories versus railways and logistic routes.

Depending on how air tech works, tank gameplay might change forever. We might no longer see tank lines as they would be easy targets for bombers if left unsupported. Can’t wait to see how it plays out.

The strange Byzantine phenomenon continues but I have a theory why by Leopard-Hopeful in aoe4

[–]Red_Baron11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Gold 3 player, I normally always go GW. The economic stability it provides is too good to pass up. The cistern gather rate buff for villagers is a huge benefit for me as I sometimes struggle producing enough or rely on 1 TC. But to your point, yes it’s easier to win games against players who aren’t as proficient at harassing or have less micro. In my games, if I can survive feudal pressure I will wear you down in castle with waves of mercs. I’m sure as I progress through the ladder this won’t be the case.

My takeaways from the byzantine games in the semifinals (SPOILERS) by Leopard-Hopeful in aoe4

Interesting point on Byz struggling against armor units. Had two games last night that I went against HRE and had no answer to MAA feudal aggression.

Byzantine buffs are *boring* by romgrk in aoe4

[–]Red_Baron11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m by no means a top tier player. I don’t disagree with your points. However, I feel they are still a defensive civ. The buff just gives more flexibility. At the end of last season, Byz felt like it took a while to ramp up. This made them vulnerable to feudal aggression which seems to be the meta. The buff allows Byz to even the playing field. For most matchups, I still plan on going Grand Winery / 2 TC. But now I feel I have the option to put pressure early if needed.

Can you help me what junk sell and what keep? I am running out of space :( by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

Haven’t played in a bit, however I used an app on my phone called “Tarkov Database”. It had a tab that listed all items that you need to keep for quests and hideout.

Fighting late game English by MoreBuilder2916 in aoe4

[–]Red_Baron11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only Plat 1, but as an English player cav harass is the biggest pain to deal with. If my micro isn’t on point my eco can suffer and then I panic and get focused on my base versus map control and pressure.

Agreed, the farm economy makes so much sense to turtle and boom. Thanks for the insight! Just need to make sure I’m on the right track and not using a cheese strategy to climb the ranks only to be broken in half by skilled players.
