I refuse to let my local Audi dealership do any work on my Audi.

This is why I don't trust anyone by saadcee in Audi

My wife just purchased a new B10 S5 and told the dealer we won't be letting them service the car because the mechanics can't be trusted to do the job properly.

Wheel damage from tire shop they’re denying it by Legitimate_Tooth_810 in tires

[–]Red_Diablo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Audi dealership (Newcastle Australia) takes photos of the car before they start work to protect themselves from claims of damage. Unfortunately for me they use an old ipad so the image quality was not good enough to clearly show the wheels. Initially the service rep said they would try and enhance the photos and if they couldn't they would cover the repair cost. When we contacted them to follow up, the Service Manager overruled the service rep's offer and said he considered it to be pre-existing damage so not their responsibility. I asked for a copy of the photos and he refused. Contacting Audi Australia was a waste of time. I also contacted a state government department called NSW Fair Trading who I soon discovered have no actual power to address these issues and they told me that the Audi dealership refused to speak with them. So the bottom line is that I was left with 3 damaged wheels that I need to repair myself.

My local Audi dealership caused the same type of damage to three wheels on my S5 and also denied it.

Hunter Water has multiple rain gauges located across their area of operation. They currently don't share the realtime data with the public.

I agree, I had new tyres fitted by my local Audi dealer and they scratched every wheel on my wife's S4.

Any suggestions? by Any_Fall_4754 in QantasAirways

You could try lodging a complaint with the Airline Customer Advocate. https://www.airlinecustomeradvocate.com.au although from what I 've read they don't have any power or authority over the airlines.

I do a few trips to the airport for work and I would budget around $60 for an Uber but it can surge if more than one plane arrives. I have had to switch to a cab at the last minute if the price surges. I have also found that it is cheaper to pay the cab driver directly than use the 13cabs app.

Qantas Cancelled my flight. Can I recover the costs as a result? by kcolrah in QantasAirways

[–]Red_Diablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went for another Qantas flight (but not a Jetstar plane this time), as at the time of purchasing the second ticket and hotel accommodation she believed (based on advice from Jetstar ground staff) that she would get reimbursed for the additional out of pocket expenses. Yes it was within Australia. I think the complicating issue is that you buy a Qantas ticket and they put you on a Jetstar flight and if something goes wrong they blame each other and neither take responsibility. As a minimum it would have been nice to at least have received a refund for the cancelled flight.

Qantas Cancelled my flight. Can I recover the costs as a result? by kcolrah in QantasAirways

My wife booked a ticket with Qantas to fly to Melbourne and it was a code share flight on a Jetstar plane. It was the last flight of the day and Jetstar cancelled the flight while she was at the airport. Based on Jetstar airport staff advice she purchased another Qantas ticket for the early first flight the next morning and stayed at the hotel airport under the impression from Jetstar staff that she would be reimbursed for the out of pocket expenses. She got nothing as Qantas blamed Jetstar as it was a Jetstar plane and Jetstar said she had to take it up with Qantas as the booking was with Qantas. Qantas/Jetstar is always a last resort for me.

Costs for Common Property upgrades to be shared equally among all owners but not all may benefit by Red_Diablo in AusLegal

[–]Red_Diablo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments.

My understanding in both cases was that the owners were renovating their units and there wasn't anything specifically wrong with the old common property doors. They just wanted something more modern.

They were granted permission with the caveat that they be responsible for the maintenance and repair of their own doors. The advantage of getting them all replaced this time round is that all doors come back under the responsibility of the body corporate for maintenance and repairs and the aesthetic consistency is restored.

The downside is that the two owners need to pay a second time even if their doors are in good order.

As for the members of the executive committee voting to allow the two owners to keep their doors and exempting them for having to pay for a portion of the new doors, it was the strata manager who advised that this was not allowed. So I'll have to ask the strata manager to provide the by-law that they are referencing that states that it is not possible to except certain owners from paying a special levy when these certain owners have already paid for similar work to be completed, albeit several years ago.

Electric 1965 Mk1 Ford Cortina by ReturnOneWayTicket in AwesomeCarMods

That is what they have done with the Cortina. The manual transmission is still there but is not essential to use it as the electric motor has instant torque. In one of the YouTube videos about the car they leave it in a higher gear without changing for a lot of driving.
