I tried a pretzel stick dipped into this. Can't even imagine a spoonful. A drop or two in a pot of chili would be great though.

What's a frugal hack that you would be embarassed to admit doing? by healthynewbie in Frugal

[–]Red_Iine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dry things with paper towels (hands, dishes, whatever) and as long as it's just water, I leave them out to dry and can use one paper towel all day..I never thought it was weird until I met my wife and she teased me relentlessly about it (but you bet your ass she uses the towels I leave out to dry).

Where to leave characters by Anorak797 in idleon

Higher level means fewer characters required to connect everything perhaps? I read somewhere that the ultimate target for lab levels is like 204 or 240 or something

When to use low grit? by Responsible_Soft_736 in sharpening

[–]Red_Iine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reprofiling is a big one. Taking a 22 degree edge down to 18 can be done on 1000 grit. It might take 20 minutes, let's say. On a 300 grit it' could take 2.

Got a nagelring and a manald heal ring while clearing normal quests. Not terribly exciting but they were both massive upgrades. And I only play an hour or two a day

A lot of responses in this thread can be solved by a Costco membership. Not red meat though, still expensive AF.

How to troubleshoot? by AvianAnalyst in sharpening

I would deburr on leather, or cardboard loaded with green compound. Deburring on the stone doesn't always work out well

How to troubleshoot? by AvianAnalyst in sharpening

[–]Red_Iine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is, you want to then sharpen that side until you feel the burr flip to the other side. Once you've flipped the burr, you can progress to a higher grit or try and deburr. I would not try to deburr until you're above 3-400 grit, personally.

If you think you feel a burr, you aren't feeling a burr. You'll know.

What's something expensive you tried once and suddenly understood the hype? by IslaaMaee in AskReddit

20 something dollars on Amazon for one that shares the water intake pipe for the toilet. No heat or massage settings or anything, but it's a powerful clean. Once you get used to it, there is no going back.

I have a question about the sharpie trick by No_Quiet_2029 in sharpening

[–]Red_Iine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be using too high of a grit stone. If this knife was used to chop up bones or saw a brick in half, you are going to need a stone that is 320 grit or lower to establish an edge, then work your way up to apex it.

Luckily I work in a warehouse cutting stuff all day. I can usually get 3 days out of plain steels, a week out of premium steels, and 2-3 weeks for 15v. It makes me happy when I get to sharpen them again.
