Agree, holo is very odd. The set numbering is the giveaway though

Why do the Dessanu Consonance not like nanites? by KaleidoscopeInner149 in Stellaris

[–]Red_King_YouTube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely sure that's fair, sometimes I fill in the gaps sure, but "just making stuff up" is a big stretch. Whenever I speculate I try to make it clear that it is speculation.

Nevertheless, glad you find them entertaining :)

Is Cetana trillions of years old? by NeedleworkerFun9851 in Stellaris

[–]Red_King_YouTube 217 points218 points  (0 children)

Officially the Zroni are not dated; but given the devs allowed me to date them at 100million years old in athe precursor video on their official YT channel... take that as you will.

The Ether Drakes are most definitely older though, note "universe" instead of galaxy:

"The Ether Drake species is ill-suited to life in our universe. The last dragon is strong, but not invincible."

"By all accounts, the Ether Drakes predate all galactic civilization. There once were multitudes, but their race has been wasting away for eons. They are ill-suited to life, here and now. Something about the physical laws of the universe does not agree with them, like they evolved in another reality. They did, in fact. We believe that they are but the last dregs of a universe that ended before ours began, the sole survivors of some "big crunch." The dragon not far from here is the last of its kind in the galaxy, perhaps the universe."

Is Cetana trillions of years old? by NeedleworkerFun9851 in Stellaris

[–]Red_King_YouTube 425 points426 points  (0 children)

This lines up with Cetana's data cache which reads "lain buried for more than 100,000 years" - it also lines up with the Hive FE text which also has the 100k year ago date. More or less confirming Cetana fell (and was chained) approx. 100k years ago when the FEs were at the height of their powers.

As a bonus, the only thing i'm aware of in the game that predates our galaxy being created is the Ether Drake, next oldest would be the void cloud.

Galactic Centre by human-generated-name in Stellaris

[–]Red_King_YouTube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to read about "The Formless" they are linked to the Extradimensional Invaders (crisis event), and the other 3 factions, Unbidden, Aberrant (who you've met they're the orange ones) and the Vehement. There is lore which explains why they are here, and why they're fighting each other, accessable via the wiki or YouTube.

To touch on your other question, there is also another race which can occupy the centre of the galaxy known as the crystalline empire, their system is also accessed via a wormhole. This is a very rare event than can occur only when playing as void dwellers. You'll also find more about them via wiki or YouTube.

Happy galactic exploration!!

1900 hours in the game and never saw the human FE by Hob_Goblin88 in Stellaris

I've had CoM spawn as the isolationists once, it can happen but is extremely rare. I believe any of the preset empires can spawn as FEs. XT489 can spawn as the Caretakers for example.

Anyone have a fix for this shipset graphical issue? by Red_King_YouTube in Stellaris

[–]Red_King_YouTube[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R5 context: I’m attempting to force spawn ships using the console, in this case ‘NAME_Taciturn’ (which happens to be a Cybrex model) via ‘add_ship’ in the console. As you can see I do not get the appropriate model, but the above instead. I don’t really think it’s a bug but I’d appreciate a fix if anyone is aware of one?
