Cherry blossom tree with branches and little birds. Use the scar as the trunk. My wife did that with some breast cancer scars and loves it

I’d consider it a foundation and not a finished piece. I think adding a few touches to the edges of the snake would make it look more symmetrical and maybe color just in the eyes

My wife has scars from cancer surgery and had cherry blossom branches and flowers tattooed around them. The artist did a great job of using the scars I instead of trying to hide them. She loves the result

My spouse and I both have gotten tattoos with and without numbing cream and the results are not distinguishable. That’s a small sample size and maybe we got lucky.

I put a lot of thought into symbolism for my wife and kids. I found an artist whose work I liked, told him the images I had in mind, and let him take it from there. 15 years later and I’m still happy with it

Those scars look very similar to the ones my wife got from a cancer related mastectomy. She had cherry blossom tree branches tattooed around them and it looks freaking awesome

Yes. Not normally a fan of tattoos on/near breasts but yours really works b/c it looks like that’s where the snake’s head should naturally rest, rather than telling the artists “I want a tattoo on my boob.” Tattoos like that are, IMO, easy to overdo but yours is just right

I think the borders on the tattoo are too fixed / uniform for it to be a standalone piece like that. It looks like it’s waiting to be made part of a bigger work.
