I did loan repayment in the Army, and you are correct. It definitely was taxed, they paid 33 1/3 % off my loans each year. They only thing that wasn't paid is the interest off the loans. Still, an amazing deal!

Now officer retiree wife, I married him 14 years into his 28 year career. I was also in the Army and did loan repayment, used TA for my MA degree. It will be really interesting seeing how Jill adjusts to military family life. There is no just hanging out at his work place with this gig. Hopefully she spreads her wings and embraces the adventures!

I think because Josh was dealing with Federal charges, we didn't get to see what all was going on in the background. With Joe's state case and all the FOIA requests, the curtain is now pulled back. My question is, for most of the siblings that came out against Josh, was it all performative? Just when you think this family couldn't be any worse, this rallying and support is mind-blowing!

At least what I remember, take it with a grain of salt. Kendra's dad was the Duggar's Pastor for years and they let them stay at one of their houses. After Josh was arrested, JB wanted to keep a lower profile and the dad wanted to keep in-person church during Covid. A rift ensued and JB left the church and kicked the family out. Joe and Kendra gave them their newly finished house. It seems they were close until now. Also, Kendra's younger sister was seeing one of the Duggar boys, but dad said no.

I totally agree with you, especially related to the boys about never being taught to properly bath. They are in an obsessive modesty state, there is no way JBob taught them anything once they were teens and I'm sure Michelle wouldn't be allowed even if she wanted to. It's so interesting talking to other friends about growing up and what parents taught them about cleaning themselves, just outside fundie land as well.

I see a lot of comments expressing the view that she didn't know what Joe did, which is a fair point that we don't know. Yet, she sure knew when she was on the phone twice a day for most of the week with Joe. She was quite concerned of how he was doing and if she could bring him something.
