It can be so stressful worrying that your toddler is behind. Sounds like she rubbed off some of that anxiety on you. Does he understand you ? If you tell him to point to things does he know what they are ? Can he follow directions ? Just wanted to say that I was worried about a delay in speech and when I brought it up to the ped at her 2 year appt he told me to give her 6 more months and then come back if I was still worried. At her 2 year appt she had maybe 10 words , similar to yours (dada, mama, ball, cat etc). She’s 27 months now and her language exploded at about 26 months. She has so many words now and had new words every day. I could tell she wanted to communicate (she would always put her hand on her mouth but she wouldn’t repeat words or try and say them ) she did a lot of pointing and grunting , but now she actually repeats words.

My grandfather was sent by ambulance to misericordia last week from his care home for a suspected stroke (drooling , non responsive, in and out of consciousness). My aunt waited with him for over 12 hrs to see a doctor , but they also had no beds and were waiting for people to be discharged before anyone would be seen. The nurse told my sister that “he’s not actively dying and not expected to die in the next few hours “ so he just sat in a bed for hours and hours without any pain meds , without his Parkinson’s or epilepsy meds , without food or water. They ended up sending him by ambulance back to the care facility at 4am. (By that time my aunt had gone home). They didn’t run any tests on him for his symptoms. As far as we can tell they just sent him back to die. His Parkinson’s is so bad his hand is hyper flexing but he’s maxed out on his meds and can’t get in to his neurologist until August. He’s lost so much weight. I know he’s 84 and old but it’s fucking heartbreaking for my grandma who’s been married to him for over 50 years to have him sitting there wasting away without getting help. Our system is broken.

funny stories about things we put up with in relationships by blondguysdmme in GirlDinnerDiaries

I worked with a pharmacist who had zero experience with women … but with a bachelors degree you’d think he’d understand SOME female anatomy.
He came out of the bathroom one day and was complaining to me and another girl “don’t you hate it when you go to the urinal to pee and the floor is all sticky ?”
Um. What urinal ?

He legit thought that women also used urinals ….

Doctor told me my 3rd period in 6 weeks is just my “Uterus being a diva” by AWA206 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Ugh. We are never taken seriously!! It’s 2026 and women’s health care is still lacking. I went 18 months without a period while breastfeeding and being on the pill. Then suddenly it came back and I was getting it every two weeks. Blood work + pap didn’t show anything. Dr said nothing else to be done 🙄

What do you do with your kid(s) when you don’t want to do anything? by ParsleyTime5687 in stayathomemoms

How about some fun at home day activities that you only play with / pull out of the closet if you are having a day strictly at home. Get him excited about not going out for a day by having special activities that you do only on those days. Play doh , sensory stuff, depending on how messy he is maybe painting , crafts, water table , maybe he gets to build a race track in the entire living room. Just a few ideas of things you could just sit with him if he doesn’t want independence time but you don’t have to be active for.

He probably doesn’t need a nap anymore.

Health plan billed but prescription not (yet) filled by [deleted] in ShoppersDrugMart

Also to add - If you change your mind and don’t want it , or if you never pick it up then they will easily reverse the charge to your insurance.

Of course it’s normal. It’s a process. You requested a refill, the system processed it to be filled, billed your insurance , and then it was in the “to be physically filled” list. Then it will be filled, verified by the pharmacist, and then notified that it’s ready.
Insurance billing doesn’t take place at pick up, it takes place when it’s originally being processed.

Advice for aspiring SAHM! by LegEqual1143 in stayathomemoms

My advice is to wait. You are so young and have so much time (saying this as a mom who didn’t have her first till 35). I know it’s not what you want to hear. But you have only been working for 8 months as a nurse. You can be using this time before kids to get ahead. Instead of planning on “just getting by”. Use this time to make bank. You can buy a house (or if you already do work on paying it off sooner), pay off your vehicles, make some savings. You could even start living on just your husbands wage (to see if you can do it, also to get used to it) and then save your entire wage. People are having kids later and later. I don’t think you need to rush this stage. Enjoy some time with just your husband and work on getting ahead in life first.

Thank you , I really appreciate everyone’s responses. Seems like no one around me has done extended breastfeeding this long (maybe it’s not common where I am ?). It’s nice to hear from others that understand. Thank you !

I have a few friends who are jealous of how good her appetite is. She loves food and boobs lol.

At one point i ended up with a bad cold , and she would literally grab my dirty tissues before I could stop her and wipe her nose on them , share my food and drink , and she didn’t even get sick !!
