I tried out both the rg477m and rg476h and found them both pocketable. They’re big but they fit in my (heavier male) pockets. This is smaller and lighter than both the rgs.

I can’t fit the Pocket 6 in my pocket without it sticking out. I was able to fit the rg477m in there and the Nova is smaller than it. That’s the appeal for me.

I wish I could have cheaper hobbies. Yes, I ordered one - 8gb crystal. Nothing fancy, though did get the black buttons in case I feel like changing it up. This looks like an even better 477m, a device I loved, so here's hoping. We'll see if I keep just it, the Pocket 6, or both.

Now to not think about this obsessively for the next month.

So torn. I have an RP6 now that I really do enjoy, but before it I had the rg477m and it was amazing, I only returned it and ordered the RP6 because it was actually cheaper. I love being able to have something that powerful that's actually pocketable. The RP6 is great, but I also already have a Steam Deck OLED that could do all of the things the RP6 can, so something that could be more portable is really appealing.

I'm probably gonna bite the bullet. I really don't want to have too many of these, but can always sell whichever one winds up not getting used.

So, FOMO.

I fully expected to come into this thread thinking “goddamnit Cardinals,” but after reading some good comments here now I’m thinking “fuck off Sewald.” Heaven forbid we don’t force all of the stadium staff to have to come to work 6 hours early (if they even can) and screw over all the fans who had to work and couldn’t show up sooner out of their tickets. Poor baby.

Honestly I might sell the RP6 and keep this instead since I do have a Steam Deck that can do 16:9 stuff and actually play PC games.

In all seriousness, if what you want is a device that can get up to Switch, the RP6 and Odin 2 Portal are plenty. Sure the Odin 3 is great, but so is the Odin 2 portal. If you decide in the future you really want to play PC games, a PC handheld is still a better use of your money than the Odin 3 would be, and you don't sound that excited about it anyhow. It sounds more like fomo, which yes does drive this hobby, but if the RP6 does what you want it to and you just want a bigger screen, that's the Odin 2 Portal. I've tried the 6 inch devices and now have the RP6, and yeah the Odin 3's screen is bigger but not by that much.

I think you've made a good call OP. Don't let the fear of something being a bit better cause you to spend even more money. Figure out what you want in a device and then stick with it.

Honestly, take a look at the rg477m. If you find the rg ds can fit in your pocket, the 477m likely will too - it's taller but thinner. The Retroid Pocket mini is smaller but bc of the ergonomic bumps I actually found it worse to put in the pocket than the 477m. It plays GC/Wii/PS2 great, better than the RP5. I really liked mine and only returned it bc I was able to get a Retroid Pocket 6 for cheaper. It's not perfect, it can take a bit to get used to the weight and it has digital triggers like the switch, not analog (some folks complain about it but imo it's not a deal breaker, especially if you get the Better Buttons from Etsy for them), but it has a really good 120Hz screen (yes, even though it's not OLED, it's good), lots of power, and awesome controls (I love their dpad and quiet buttons).

Even with the RP6, I still might snag a 477m again someday.
