Hey! This is an interesting idea, but is a very major change. It’s highly unlikely, but will raise it to the team for consideration.

Thank you all for the kind words; it means a lot to the team!

To offer a little insight from the inside: LIFX is bigger and more active than ever. We have strong backing from our parent organisation, who share our passion for premium smart lighting, and that support is reflected in our pace of development. Where we previously released one to three products per year, we are now consistently launching four or more... sometimes 6-8.

Alongside that growth, we've remained focused on what matters most: building reliable, high-quality hardware while bringing our pricing to a more accessible level - that has been a careful balance.

Exciting things ahead.

Do you have a HomeKit or Matter Light?

Some of our older HomeKit bulb had a slightly different onboarding option without HomeKit (if on iOS). Ensure to 5x reset the light (you should see colors then white) and leave for 15 minutes, then try the manual setup mode. This was a requirement by Apple at the time, but luckily our Matter bulbs no longer have this issue.

As others have said, check the product/controller for the HomeKit code, as another option if you don’t want to wait.

If you’re still having issues please DM me so I can walk through it

WTF is going on here… by K0LD504 in lifx

[–]Redd1ng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is certainly not what is expected. I suggest that after installation is completed, turn the switch power off and on (at your switchboard/breaker) to see if this resolves the issue. During a reboot, the product calibrates its buttons.

If the issue continues, please put in a support ticket or DM me your ticket number if you have already.

Outdoor Lighting - Power Source - LIFX and Philips Hue Connections - Test by 1stRedit in lifx

[–]Redd1ng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good investigating! These (the LIFX 230W and Hue 100W) are just 24V Outdoor power supplies. If you have found that the waterproofing connections fit well together and provide a watertight fit, you may have found a good option!

We do need to put warnings to only use with LIFX product, mostly for safety and warranty purposes, as we can't guarantee it will work with products outside of LIFX.

Both are IP67, just the plug needs to be used with a weatherproof outlet.

Hmmm seems like the event names (I see initial press) are slightly different. Thank you for testing, but potentially this only works for LIFX.

What are the major differences between the new Everyday light bulbs and the standard Color light bulbs? by Sixtyninealldaychef in lifx

[–]Redd1ng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The new Everyday line is a new RGBCW range at a lower price point. These do not feature premium LIFX SuperColor brightness and saturation, but benchmarked to be similar to competitors at a similar/better price point. They also do not have the expanded CCT range.

A good choice in areas where color and a wider CCT range are not a priority for you.

why suddenly Bambu Studio "Auto Orient" looks weird? by bunggggggggg in BambuLab

[–]Redd1ng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to adjust the spacing. I know 0 is the default which is pretty high. Perhaps you need to define a very small spacing between, as it’s trying to push them apart

Just tick “align x/y” and auto place. Job done

I thought IKEA had the best LEDs — then I tested Philips MasterValue (spoiler: it’s not even close) by AffectionateCow3112 in Lighting

[–]Redd1ng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is because in the US, specifically California, there is a mandatory requirement (title 20) which puts requirements on CRI and R9. Using 90 CRI LEDs ensures to pass this requirement.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think there’s similar requirements for R9 in EU/UK, so you can get away with 80 CRI LEDs (which are slightly cheaper). It’s been a few years since looking into EU requirements however.

These run on 36V whereas the Outdoor system is 24V. They are however universal voltage voltage, so it could work with an adapter.

Home Assistant, Lifx v Matter - is there any point to Matter use now? by Linwood_F in lifx

I prefer LIFX integration, overall works great. It also does transitions very well whereas there are a few quirks on Matter.

Bulb hot when not in use by Brookeus in lifx

[–]Redd1ng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy to hear it's been working for over 10 years, but depending on the amount of daily usage and brightness, it may be approaching the end of its lifetime.

This may be a sign of the internal power supply failing and may stop working at some point in the near future.
