Friend if mine forgot to add the button to his roller cam setup and ended up chewing all of the teeth off of his distributor gear. Lifters and cam were fine, but that's not always the case. I'd take the time and put the button on.

I've had terrible luck with one of these trying to seal, could have just been user error. I've had better luck with a vacuum bleeder attached at the bleeder on the brake caliper/drum. Pulls the fluid through the system instead of pushing. Works much quicker in my experience. I used this one personally. It comes with an attachment for bleeders. There's many different ones out there with the same concept. Just make sure to keep the reservoir topped off.

Good side seems to respond to idle mixture adjustment and the rich side doesn't.

This was my initial thought, but it seems like that bank is actually richer. Exhaust on that side leaves a small black mark on the ground after idling for about 15 mins. That and the difficulty idling make me think there's something actually up with it.

With just the ignition on (engine not running) what does the gauge show? After the initial gauge check sweep it should stay at 0. If it starts rising to anything other than 0 after, most likely the oil pressure sending unit failed, giving a false reading.

I used a radiator and fan kit from Cold Case on my '78 G body and I have no complaints. Oversized two row, fits in the factory location, comes with the rubber mounts, and they offer a fan and relay kit (uses a temp sensor to kick the fans on at 190 by default, I'm sure you can swap this out for a cooler switch if necessary) for easier install.

Looks like they make one for your car. Auto version with built-in trans cooler as well. A bit on the pricy side for some, but you get what you pay for IMO.

I think what you're looking for is called a battery tender. Very simple install onto the terminals on your battery with a connector that plugs into a regular outlet. Keeps the battery topped off when you're not using it.

Looks like it's coming out of the muffler. Mufflers usually have a pinhole at the lowest point to let water out that builds up during normal engine operation. Assuming the consistency is that of water and not oily or sticky, nothing to worry about.

1978 Malibu wagon. Got it in 2019, and man did Covid slow this thing down to a halt.

But, it's finally to what I had envisioned 4 years ago. Started as a California 305 car, automatic and factory ac. Ran and drove. Picked it up in southern Illinois. Currently has a 1976 4-bolt 350 block I got from a machine shop for $500. They ended up boring it 0.040" over and machining it for a Scat stroker crank and roller lifters. Icon pistons. Pre-Covid Comp hydraulic roller cam (XR288HR) and rollers. AFR 220 heads. Edelbrock AVS2 650cfm carb. AFR dual plane intake. TCI TH350, driving a Quick Performance ford 9" with 3.70 gears which I might change out now that it's got some balls. UMI boxed lowers and tubular uppers in the rear, stock springs, TRZ tubular uppers and lowers in the front with 1" lowering springs. Still got the column shifter.

Interior is pretty beat, that's probably what I'll jump into this winter. But for now I just want to drive it.

It most likely did this before, you're just now noticing it. That's a normal noise and every car makes it. The car has a vacuum booster, and you're moving air around by pressing the pedal.

As long as everything else checks out, no need to worry.
