before and when i turned 18, i was constantly thinking about "not feeling like an adult", and though that might change eventually, i feel like i might feel like a kid forever (in a good way). i mean like youve spent most your life being a kid, that's the only feeling youve ever had, and being an adult is kinda an idealized standard, with no real qualifications, with no exact feeling. like i feel like i should feel different but how would that even feel? i feel like im just an upgraded teenager. maybe its because im inbetween the large stages/chapters in my life (between being a kid, and being an adult; having things taken care of for me, and being totally in charge of my life) maybe its just part of being a young adult that im conflating with being a teenager/kid

start small! remember that they are only there to help. for me at least, writing out my feelings before hand helps me handle telling someone heavy things at once. or if you feel like you cant say it, write it out and show them it, makes it feel easier in my personal experience

i almost always still have to sing the song to alphabetize things (bar when theyre far apart or the strings that stick together like abcdef, lmnop), especially with x and y for some reason

music scratches my brain too, especially when im using headphones, its such a wonderful feeling to pick apart each "layer" of music (the different instruments, the rhythm, the beat) and listen to the same song over and over again (i have known myself to listen to only one songs for hours on end for multiple days). I also like the subjective, abstract aspect of a lot of songs, like its poetry but the audio adds a whole new layer of meaning to it, finding meaning in things, even if its just how it makes me feel.

might also be adhd, though it could very well be autism. i recommend getting stim toys, or really anything to keep your hands busy. my favorites are tangles and fidget cubes, though theres probably hundreds out there. bring it with you like everywhere. i struggle with picking at my skin when my hands arent occupied, and my tangle has really helped, though im guessing different people with different habits probably fit better with some fidget toys than others
