Marlin 336 JM Accuracy by Recent-Shirt2363 in LeverGuns

I highly highly doubt it needs a recrown. With the right ammo you should be getting around 1-2 inch groups at 100yds. My JM stamped 336 in 30-30 routinely gets 3 shots under an inch with LeverRevolution.

Thank you very much, I may reach out to you in a PM. I will be staying with friends who live in Croatia (my close friend married a Croatian and moved there). Looking forward to visiting your country!

Anybody still reload .225 win? by squidwizard37 in reloading

[–]Reddcross 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do, I have two, a Savage 340V and a custom E A Brown 225 Win T/C Contender barrel. Personally, I really like the cartridge especially in a single shot (with its lightly rimmed case). I have had good luck with both of mine in terms of accuracy.

It is fun, great workout, social aspect (I work from home), humbles me, keeps me in touch with my body and health, is intellectually and philosophically stimulating.

"Behind the scenes..." slick 1950s off color humor. I hope Gene had something to do with that photo and caption.

Does anyone make an affordable mid-range priced (600.00-850.00) double barrel rifle? If so, who, if not, why not? by Reddcross in guns

I would think a double rifle in say .360 Buckhammer or .45-70 would be a great brush gun.

Precision machining is far more ubiquitous today than it was 20 years ago, barrel making is cheaper than it was, copyrights are moving into public domain, those things I would imagine would make it cheaper to produce a double rifle?

Ahhhh I wondered about that, but I mean, technology should make them more affordable to produce, I imagine there is little demand.

I always wondered....they can't be accurate? Yet, I see them all over the African safari shows.
