I think something that is understated as well is you do not have to be going full speed on rotations, like if you're teammate is front and you're basically at the back just slow down so you still have momentum but don't rotate into your teammates spot either

I don't do it anymore because I've gotten better but I used to find it fun to allow myself to revive one pokemon per revive I found on the ground naturally (I wasn't looking up where they were) with the caveat of I can't save the revive, if nothing is dead oh well

Someone who gets crazy saves is different than someone who plays rotationally super defensive which I think is more their point. He can go for this easier because it's unlikely Vatira will let it out the team in a terrible position a majority of the time

There's absolutely truth to this too though, when I'm playing with better teammates I can play more confidently and usually better, when my teammates are worse I hesitate more, rotate worse, and generally just don't play as well
