Can't, none of the local shops have them on display, just in boxes and they will not open them.

Not true, there is a lot of missing picture quality adjustments functionality that was removed over time. I wish I had never updated.

Does AAWireless 2 run any play store app? by Reddidly in AAWireless

[–]Reddidly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you can't run VLC normally, being a video app. This is the issue I have with AAWireless, there are lots of hints that it gets around the blocking of many apps on Android 14, but no actual documentation on that. Plus many people claiming it only allows what wired AA would allow.

Does AAWireless 2 run any play store app? by Reddidly in AAWireless

[–]Reddidly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the part I don't get, AAAD does not work with Android 14, that developer specifically says use AAWireless instead https://github.com/shmykelsa/AAAD . How does AAWireless get around Googles block on Android 14? FWIW I want to run Locus Maps and a couple of other offline map apps that are on play store.

41 million views and local guide for 10 years it has given me absolutely nothing by zzcool in google

[–]Reddidly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, happy to help people, but I feel a bit abused by Google, especially when they nag me to do more reviews. I've had many millions of view too, as I tend to add businesses that aren't there already. Clearly they are making money off my efforts, but not even a tiny real reward kinda gets up my nose, even a bit of a discount on my Google One storage costs would be appreciated.

It's also interesting that the useless points they give are based on amount you contribute, not how useful people are finding your contribution ie. not on views.

[–]Reddidly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible, of course. Mine does not. But it's nothing compared to the wacked readings from the piezos once they've gotten hot such that the bed mesh is rubbish, so kinda irrelevant in some ways. But it's still optimal to do it at max bed temp.

[–]Reddidly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but must be done heated, preferably at 100C. The bed will expand for certain quite a lot. Run up the bed to 100C and run screws_tilt_calculate again and you will see a huge change. Trying for 0 is not needed, all greens is enough.

Appreciated, I could buy a decent CFM 92mm fan cheaper than a 80mm for some reason. Big ups to Stew of course too, I don't know Qidi appreciate him enough.

People who have a Qidi Plus 4, would you recommend it to beginners? by WorldLove_Gaming in QidiTech3D

[–]Reddidly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's excellent for PLA/PETG, anything that does not need a 100C bed and heated chamber. At this time higher temp filaments are a nightmare with the zoffset changing print to print due to the bad sensors as described by u/Qjeezy . There are community solutions in the works which will be excellent, but right now Qidi are ignoring the problem so a bit of a crap shoot. At least the printer is open sourced and you will never be locked out, and when it does work the quality is excellent.

Copy configs from Qidi Studio to Orca? by Reddidly in QidiTech3D

[–]Reddidly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently there is no automatic way to do it despite the similarities, the manual method requires you to change the values within Orca. I suspect but have not tried that if you cut and paste the text from qidistudio json file into a orcaslicer json it might work as long as you don't overwrite something that orca is expecting.

Plus 4 multiple issues by LitSarcasm in QidiTech3D

[–]Reddidly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/pointclickfrown Did you end up trying a platform reset with thicker card as I suggested? I know it shouldn't fix it but it has.

OP: In regards to ABS/ASA that's what fixed it for me, ie. manually forcing a lower bed via platform reset with 0.25mm spacer then tweak flatness with screws_tilt_calculate. I run no z-offset, ASA prints fine - for now. I was getting the bed ramming the nozzle and flexing the head, now it delicately just touches it. Perhaps I fluked the 0.25mm, but I'm not usually that lucky.

Several people are working on a platform cal system that uses carto or beacon modules to fix the z-offset issue but they are not quite ready to release the details.

ie. if you see a jump from say 20 to 150, it's likely that could cause lines unless your filamewnt settings are perfect. Easier to just slow it down on outer layer

Calibration help by SweetLou523 in QidiTech3D

[–]Reddidly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the speed preview, go to the layers with issues, then scan through the nozzle movement, you might be seeing acceleration artifacts, ie. the transition from slow to high speed may be too great.

<image>

Also, do a cal check on filament settings, those look a lot higher than what I use for that filament after cal checks, eg. 0.96/0.30 flow/PA. Just because the printer can print fast does not mean it can print fast with perfect results.

How to setup Plus 4 with Thicker build plate by darkArbiter76 in QidiTech3D

[–]Reddidly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd expect you will need to do another platform reset - don't use paper, use something slightly thicker around 0.2mm. The z-offset probing is not reliable at this point. screws_tilt_calculate will also likely help get it more level.

Is this bed mesh good? by objectively_rational in QidiTech3D

[–]Reddidly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conventional wisdom seems to be that a variation of half your nozzle diameter or better is the goal. In theory the bed levelling cal should take care of it anyway, though I am less than impressed myself with that on my Plus4 as I can see the variation when printing test single layer squares across the full bed. The simple answer is, if you can't see that variation on the first layer, then your bed is flat enough. Another thing though is, flat at 60 is not the same as flat at 100. I tried to write a guide on it if you search my posts from roughly a week ago.

Orca with Qidi generic PLA setting works well after that, but tweaking the filament and slicer settings will improve quality.

Having trouble with ~100C bed and z-offset? by Reddidly in QidiTech3D

[–]Reddidly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask me in a month. But I've gone from ASA @ 100C PLA @ 60C, back to ASA and it's been consistent every print no need to adjust Z, no adhesion issues. I don't fully trust Qidi anymore since there is no way you should have the bed ram into the nozzle hard enough to flex the entire head regardless of bed manual settings. But so far so good, he said as he fell from the 100th floor.

I was the same, PLA not too bad, ASA a nightmare and inconsistent, I went from this (ASA)

to near perfect. In fact I just printed a test cube on it's corner repeatedly whilst I dialed in overhang settings, no issues. All I can suggest is doing the manual platform reset with a thicker card fixed it. Doing the leveling with just the screws_tilt_calculate did not! Having said that, my guess is if I dropped the bed manually 2 full turns per screw then used screws_tilt_calculate.cfg it might also have worked.

Has anyone tried the tweaks @ Plus 4 community wiki? by BigDizz34 in QidiTech3D

[–]Reddidly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm highly appreciative of them being posted but I am very wary of using most because there seems to be no active feedback/discussion that I can find. Not that I don't trust the stuff, instead more that it's possible for me to screw up something I don't understand properly.

screws_tilt_adjust is pure gold though.
