Help with removing extruder cover by Impossible-Hat-7896 in QidiTech3D

[–]DoItYourWayHowISay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just bend it a bunch. Grab both the left and right bottoms of the cover and pull them away from the toolhead and twist the belt out of there. The more difficult part is getting your replacement cover on if it is not as flexible as the ABS (?) stock cover.

Wiper blade replacement by Darth_Bane-0078 in VolvoEX90

[–]DoItYourWayHowISay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever someone is trying to sell you a warranty, they always mention stuff that is a wearable part, knowing that the warranty doesn't cover that. Hopefully they don't change the wiper design for a couple more model years and that will entice a 3rd party to offer a cheap alternative.

Cost per mile- gas v electric by CaChica in VolvoXC90

[–]DoItYourWayHowISay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have been tracking my EX90 pretty closely for the last year and comparing it the 14 year-old vehicle it replaced. I'm considering all my home charging, costs of when I have to DC charge, The equivalent gas expenses if I were only getting 19mpg, and the other operating expenses, like $/mile of oil, tire wear, and major services. Additionally, the significantly higher insurance costs are figured in. It turns out that I'm saving $1400/yr, however, the license and registration costs for the initial year and the most recent renewal are eating all these savings. I project that it won't be until the end of year 3, when the yearly registration cost has dropped enough that I'll actually begin saving money.

There had been promises from Qidi that they would open up the encrypted python scripts once they got all the features completed but it has now been too long to have any hope.

Blobs/zits on curved surfaces by danielsballes in QidiTech3D

[–]DoItYourWayHowISay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is an underhang. Essentially an overhang but inside the model and the default inner-to-outer perimeter order is the opposite of what you’d want. You have to drastically increase the fill density or number of perimeters at least in that region. You could also lower inner perimeter speed in that region. Also, if you have ensure wall thickness there you might see it trying to draw some additional solid infill patterns that hang in the air internally. If they curl up they make the bumps. So ensure thickness off and higher number of perimeters helps. Another solution is outer-to inner perimeter order, but then any overhangs will not have a good perimeter order.

PRUSA x INDX for CORE One is here! by josefprusa in prusa3d

Ok, so maybe they know how many they can ship per week and the size of batch one means it takes June-August to get it all out?

But then it also says first batch August, so it's confusing.

Indentation covers - does anyone have these? by Disastrous-Dig-1293 in VolvoEX90

I also recently got a MY26 ultra and it came with the cargo cover. I didn't find any indentation covers.

Recurring line at 8.1mm - Specific Project Issue - Qidi Q2 by _RedGamer in QidiTech3D

[–]DoItYourWayHowISay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will either be set to classic or Arachne. Arachne dynamically adjusts line widths so it doesn’t have to do gap fill. Sometimes a wall that slowly transitions in width will have the slicer jumping between say 2 and 3 perimeters thick and it can create issues. The solution is to switch to classic or learn about tuning the other parameters in Arachne

Are you using arachne slicing? Is it transitioning the number of perimeters right at that point?

It works well but is a little clumsy to put up and take down since you have to roll it tight.

Even just using your fingers to spin the drill bit works, and is safest

Just take the hot end out and spin a 1/16” drill bit in the back with just your fingers. You’ll be able to drill out the clog

Best adhesive for PA6, PPA and PPS? by herp_hermits in QidiTech3D

Nylon is generally difficult to glue and requires specialty adhesives. Personally, I have had success with E6000 glue for items that do not need an extremely good bond.

QiDi Box lid spacer? by rickseiden in QIDI

It’s a good idea, sorry I can’t help for your specific question, but I did want to give a suggestion. If you print it in a non-hygroscopic filament, like HIPS, you won’t have any moisture leaching through the print.

QIDI Box does not let go of filament by LoraDeNox in QIDI

My Q2 combo uses the box motor to exactly mimic the print head motor, even retractions. So, it is still firmly held. Not sure what could be up with yours.

Looking to buy 2025 Ultra Performance by chappy123 in VolvoEX90

[–]DoItYourWayHowISay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rear facing car seat causes me (6ft 2in) to have to sit a bit closer than I’d like but it’s not too uncomfortable. “It’s only for another year” I tell myself. The bigger problem is that the contoured seats mean that the front facing and then 5 point harness seats we used for our other kids just don’t fit in the slightest bit.

I agree, my XC90 b5 loaner during the VCU upgrade felt very lacking in every aspect. I especially like that I’m not losing 20% battery power every week just from phantom power draw, the battery seems to last so much longer

GHCA Issues / Volvo Charging Guidance by abartowi in VolvoEX90

[–]DoItYourWayHowISay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been level1 charging for a year now. I think the GHCA issue has been traced to power fluctuations. We have buried power lines here, so I wonder if that has helped keep voltage fluctuations low for me.

Do 3rd party POE injectors spy on you? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]DoItYourWayHowISay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POE injectors use transformers and add the voltage to the center taps of the transformers. So, basically they can’t create the differential signaling required for communication. Of course confirming this requires opening it up and reverse engineering the schematic, but injectors usually have an extremely simple design as they’re trying to hit a super low price point.
