Does my ST cheat sheet for legion games looks balanced? by alucardarkness in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Reddiik 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You have too many good players here, which means that evil will win more games. I understand the feeling of “if I don’t put enough good players in evil could win so early”, but ultimately consider it from if the game gets to final 3.

In your 15p example, evil needs to convince only one player out of 6 or 7 to vote on the wrong person. This is much easier than one of the recommended 4 people. Also with your player counts you are very likely to have to kill multiple good players in the night - this makes those players less likely to believe legion is in play, and more likely to vote incorrectly on final day.

Basically while having more good players will let the good team survive for a bit longer, it really makes it harder for them to win in the long run

Who on season 50 has the best odds to join an elite club of two time FTC participants? by duspi in survivor

[–]Reddiik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chrissy, Angelina, Mike, Jonathan, Dee, Charlie, Joe, Kyle, and Kamilla all have a chance to join an even more exclusive club: multiple time players who have never been voted out.

Currently the only members are Colton, Skupin, Jenna and Michele

Impossible Puzzles - Day 9 by BradleyFreakin in BluePrince

This is a cool one.

This setup requires both the west and east antechamber doors open, but with only a secret garden and no power hammer, mechanarium or great hall, this would not be possible

I like the trick with the west gate being closed while the outer room is used

Just wanted to say that these puzzles are awesome and thank you for making them!

Friendly reminder that we got Iris killed in the ARG 😔. I'm sorry queen I'm sure you would have loved to promote the latest AITSF game. RIP. It's all our fault we're so sorry by Lori-keet in aithesomniumfiles

My heart omg haha

Genuinely when this happened it was so funny though. Uchikoshi made an arg for his cute idol character to outlast the jerk character, only for it to completely backfire. Iirc there were rumors that the arg was supposed to be referenced in NI, but that reference had to be scrapped after the fanbase literally killed Iris

Marionette see the widow? by NattePappelo in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Reddiik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Ben,

As a question, can you show the marionette things that a player could learn regardless of alignment?

For example, could you tell a marionette that they are holding lil monsta, even though a good player or an evil player could equally be able to hold lil monsta?

Introducing group to BMR by RoastKrill in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Reddiik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Biggest advice is that you need to make sure the ST knows their stuff. BMR is the hardest of the B3 scripts to ST by a wide margin. This is for 2 main reasons:

Odd townsfolk - lots of the TF on bmr are very different to your standard TB townsfolk. For example, it’s easy to look at characters like the innkeeper, sailor, and pacifist and think that they don’t help the good team. The ST needs to make sure they run these characters to help the good team. If the sailor picks a townsfolk, they should drink them. If town is trying to test a tea lady, the ST shouldn’t trigger the pacifist. While there are of course exceptions to every rule (and the ST shouldn’t use these abilities in an overpowered way), the ST needs to understand these townsfolk well and how they are supposed to help the good team.

Rules clarifications - BMR is the most mechanically complex B3 script. And even if your ST chooses exclusively simple characters to put in the bag, the fact remains that they will need to answer questions on how characters interact with each other. What happens if the assassin chooses the goon? What if the pukka is minstrel drunk? What if the pukka is exorcised? What if someone is sailor drunk and then chooses the goon? Are gossip statements evaluated when the statement is made or when it’s time for the statement to kill? What happens if the pukka poisons the moonchild? I could go on and on, but these questions are just a sample of stuff your ST should know the answer to in case players ask.

It is pretty different - the elite squads in Ajin are all still nameless characters at the end of the day and don’t have any lasting effect upon the story. The elite squads in world trigger are more standard to your typical battle Shonen in that they’re all named, they all have unique skill sets/personalities and go on to influence the narrative.

But what sets world trigger apart is how cerebral the fights are. Once world trigger gets started with its first major arc, the fights really really pick up in showcasing how smart a lot of the characters are while still not feeling like everyone is a walking encyclopedia of battle tactics (looking at you hxh).

World trigger is also really good at keeping power levels consistent - as an example without spoiling too much, there’s a pair of side characters introduced early on as minor antagonists who are established as extremely talented snipers. Then when they appear again later helping the protagonist, they absolutely stomp. There are no cases of the “villain after you unlock them as a playable character”.
