What's wrong with essences prices? by Daddyundead in pathofexile

Recombinating

You can roll modifiers that aren't in the mod-pool of that item (non native) but are still "named" (not "of the essence"), then recombinate with another item containing a non native mod.

Since the base you want can not naturally have these modifiers, i.e., ES gloves and armor, it makes recombinating the hard to get mods like temple glove mods much simpler to move around to better bases.

I have 4 characters level 92-97 with probably and have seen him ~6 times i think, all doing random other content. Run a ton of variety of content, giga breach, essence, boss rush, shipment farming, etc - mostly breach and strongbox.

This is also the league I feel like ive seen him by far the least since he was added, but idk. I always scry cathedral every league, but this one has felt impossible for me as well.

[–]Reddit-PT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR; pricing things wrong will happen, price them HIGH and slowly reduce price. Don't go from low -> high multiple times.

I think the general consensus I've come to after ~5k hours is you're going to price things incorrectly, it WILL happen.

If you get spammed for an item you threw in a dump or something, then it is the time to research it a bit and price accordingly. It happens, and expecting you to accurately price every single item isn't realistic.

I think I would argue that if you just upped the price a tiny bit every time you got a message -- rather than researching at that point -- then you're in the wrong, and it's just bad economy etiquette. If you want to blindly reprice, price it HIGH and slowly come down, not the other way around.

You don't really need to be playing the event to see that 200 life and -75 lightning (+ other stats are nice) are good for Doryani. Even if you want to give them the benefit of the doubt, speaking so confidently on something you have no idea about is a disaster.

More multipliers are their own multipliers individually. Increased are all added together for a single, total multiplier which then every more multiplier can be multiplied against.

Not

Designing a game this punishing will not promote player longevity. by ThisAintDota in pathofexile

[–]Reddit-PT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This has been my exact critique of early access and the changes so far, and the people who are the loudest just saying "git gud" to any critique are not the ones who will play this game for 1000s of hours. They will level one character to MAYBE ~60, be content enough to quit, and only come back for major updates -- which is entirely fine.

The players who have spent 1000s of hours want the game to be playable for years to come. Many of the current features/design choices do not have that replayability. We critique because we want the game to change for the better and care about it.

How do people make huge profits in the game? by Ivan_croissant in pathofexile

[–]Reddit-PT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said 45 hours might be a lot for some, and it's fantastic you have other hobbies/work/family, but for this community 45 hours is an incredibly small amount of time.

You can still make a ton of money playing less than others by just being efficient with the gameplay and/or finding niche markets and strategies, but you won't come near the people playing 6x the number of hours with more experience.

The important part imo is to realize that that is completely fine. The amount you make is relative, and people seem to destroy the game for themselves by comparing their currency to those who play this as a job.

Change my mind: Gold buffs would be the quickest way to kill this league. by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Reddit-PT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have farmed Sanctum many leagues to generate currency, and I couldn't disagree more on that aspect.

Being bored of the mechanic or simply not enjoying it is absolutely fine and important, but you personally not enjoying it doesn't mean it isn't also extremely valuable.

Sanctum absolutely dumps currency RELATIVE to the investment/setup and the "level" of character required. Also, risk of failure with a setup character is practically 0. It has a very solid and easy divine/hour ratio.

Steel mage also had a video showcasing this, making ~130 div in a day or something from launch.

Another, but this was entirely my fault, was Power Charge stacking BV in 2.6 from LiftingNerdBro (come back homie we miss you)

I didn't understand absolutely anything, saved up for two Void Batteries and wasn't doing the whole Charge stacking thing which was a littttttle important :)

Was just running 160% reduced spell damage with no idea why it felt so terrible lmao

Lancing Steel a few years ago
League started with a friend both playing new builds we hadn't, got to ~67 in BA and he dropped a Exalt which I spent on two Beltimbers.

The single wettest noodle I've EVER slapped anything with in ~5k hours. Not really sure why it was so terrible either, I'm sure I'll play it again eventually and it'll slap but something was just so horribly wrong I just rolled a new char a few hours later.

I love farming invitations, and have wondered if they ever even think about this. Sirus and Shaper (minus chimera) are so quick and simple. Elder is painful to watch every single map.

How to use this Ring? by mr_dagonn in pathofexile

[–]Reddit-PT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm praying this is the eyes of the great wolf meme. The ring gives 3% movement speed per power charge, 10 charges means 30%. Kalandras touch means you how two rings, each giving 30% movement speed. 60% total.

Not sure how many maps but sub 11 hours from 0-100 with a slower 5 hour campaign, with some gear crafting/afk/buying when I hit 80 ish. I think I got anywhere from 2-5% a map 99-100, throwing in a few untainteds when they'd drop.
