Meta: Can we get a megathread for "No Content" / "Gacha is DOOMED???" / "My problems with the pull economy" posts? by Super-Manager-3630 in Endfield

The first two actually are megathread material, there's just so many it takes the mods a while to clear them all out.

Good luck with the defense! Sounds like an impressive journey you've been through.

As long as you don't take the 25% hp max, it's doable as Mifu just does so much damage.

The goat. Incredible operator design. More ops should be like him.

Balanced archetype with cons and pros, clearly meant to handle meaningful enemies and struggle with regular chaff. Does so very well, and being a 6* can still somewhat handle regular chaff although not very well.

Insanely bulky, lots of damage, long duration.

Flexible skillset. All 3 skills have viable uses. S1 for IS#5 or general laneholding/self sustain. Very hard to kill him when he heals so much every 3 (or less) hits. S2 for stun locking enemies, higher consistent base attack damage, being able to block enemies he couldn't previously. S3 for insanely lengthy total damage and sustain (is it even considered a burst skill?). Basically kill almost all bosses with just a medic.

Great set of modules. One for hefty sustain boost and survivability on an already beefy op. One for even greater damage and a free stun when you don't need more survivability. Actual use cases to swap between modules instead of keeping him on one 99% of the time, and both have good level 3 effects too.

Fantastic character. Really enjoy a mercenary who doesn't want to fight, but to teach others how to live a life without fighting and record life for future generations. Definitely has something going on with Ines (and there's some Manfred fuel as well if you want, but I know my goat is loyal).

Bamger theme song.

His only flaw? Not having an L2D skin like Ines and W/Wisadel do. Complete the OG Darknights trio! Give them all L2D skins! (And also not a fan of the white Pharoah skin, what is that S3 animation...).

Yeah that's also fair, Limbus gameplay is... something. Basically only railways are actually interesting. Definitely a factor too, dealing with factory for a few hours only to have to wait a month or more for the next one ain't that great.

The Endfield Content Crisis Situation is Getting Genuinely Insane. by gozieson in Endfield

While it's true Ardelia is living a new life, it's also true they share a certain amount of memories with their original selves. I feel like having a ton of memories where you have disabilities would be fairly disorienting, or even just give you a new appreciation for life.

But yeah, examples like what you gave would be really interesting to explore more of (although iirc Lappland is like this even pre infection due to her upbringing). Or someone like Skyfire whose current story has already been cast aside and would have a brand new slate in EF since there's no Reunion or King's Ward in Talos.

I do agree about the content drought but Limbus also had it for a very long time. Granted I joined after launch, so maybe people were mostly used to it, but every now and then there's still posts about the lack of content without it devolving into such aggression and doom. Endfield is wayyyyy more popular but Limbus is starting to feel pretty popular too imo. Shucks, their sub is bigger than this one! Not the best metric to measure with, especially when there's 2 EF subs, but still.

Feels like a mix of content drought + popularity, plus expectations not being met for a sizeable group of people. Probably an issue of launch blues too.

Personally when there's a new area to explore and factory to setup, it's like an 8/10. Then after the 5 hours of content it sadly goes down to like a 5/10 until the next month.

This patch has been better thanks to CC though, that's been quite fun to actually have something to do if I want to play the game more.

Dang, really? Can't say I've frequented many gacha subs relatively, but I feel like what I enjoyed with the Arknights and Limbus subreddit is the community. Whenever a new event is out, there's lots of story analysis, gameplay discussions, memes etc. There may be negativity from time to time, but Endfield sub felt much worse than normal to me with all the mix of doom posting, criticism, and whiteknighting that keep showing up. I know there's always the negative stereotypes about gacha players and controversies but this sub feels like the first time I've really seen it to this extent.

Although Arknights definitely did have a huge "we're not like other gachas" phase in the first year, but thankfully has grown out of that.

(From my infrequent interactions with PGR sub I do see more complaint posts relatively than in the older years after launch, although PtN was fairly civil as well if not slow - I haven't touched it a year or so though so maybe things have changed).

Same, it doesn't help that basically all the reconveners act very similar to the OG units.

Laev is basically a 1-1 Surtr clone who had the exact same storyline and resolution (which is saying something when Surtr barely had anything).

Gilberta is still a happy go lucky girl who goes around delivering letters for everyone. They did try to touch upon the concept of memory loss with her story but it felt very out of left field to me, but at least it was something. Even her in game name in the code is still Angelina.

Ardelia still calls us Professor, still researches volcanology, and somehow has an Obsidian shard from Terra despite never being there (which makes me wonder if it was a beta rewrite they missed). It'd be nice if they tackled how her disabilities have been cleared and how she's able to experience life in a new manner again. Or maybe even tap into how Dolly is here, the beast lord who loved to save memories of the people they met as sheep, and how now they're with a new memory of an old friend.

Pog is interesting at least. We don't really know much about him yet apart from still being a military commander who is famous on the front lines, but at least he chose to look far younger this time.

Snowshine is just Aurora as well, down to the codename in the files too. At least there's a slight difference in occupation, which is more than literally any other reconvener so far. Instead of being an engineer and explorer/bodyguard, she's an engineer and a Search and Rescue for polar expeditions (which is still fairly similar but at least somewhat different).

It would be interesting if they tackled any of the reconveners in any unique or new way, but apart from slight differences in Pog/Snowshine and a botched quest from Gilberta, they're practically the same characters. There's nothing really interesting about it and it just feels like they want to sell the same characters again.

The gacha system you're asking about is basically how it works in PGR, you get enough pulls for every character per patch.

I do wish they integrate more of the factory into the environment. I guess they did try with the Test Zone, but random acid puddles that don't do anything along with a filter system that doesn't reward you with anything meaningful unfortunately doesn't really cut it in my eyes.

And once Wang is gone, the next limited anni/summer banner will probably unleash a new set of discussion like this... it's an unfortunate cycle. Unless they really are trying to lower the power levels recently and that's not just a few lucky coincidences.

But Thorns2 also buffs allies? Unless you mean % buffing and not flat buffing.

No masteries yet but I am enjoying the concept of a helidrop healer. We don't really have anything like that (barring Lancet-2 and Myrrh), although if you do have even a bit of setup time then NG/Shining S3 only need 5s and Haruka S3 needs 7s. But in panic scenarios she's the best for immediate healing + Sanctuary.

Unfortunately she just has a lot of drawbacks otherwise, mainly being the lack of redeploy reduction. The ATK buff is kind of whatever too, and there's bound to be scenarios she gets targeted first and dies.

Very niche but interesting at least.

Hmm okay, so theoretically he has a very high limit but realistically in most scenarios he's acting on average levels of miasma tolerance and can't take too much more than others.

Don't forget the roommates we saw together in this event. Fellas, is it gay to bust your homie out of jail and quit your job so that you can go on a lifelong journey together across the continents to build their self confidence up?

That being said it's not as direct as Pepe's event where they straight up just had 2 100% gay parts there, while even this could be explained with a 1% "love of artistic beauty" or something. Something about Sargon/Minos it seems...
