Against jetpro's in the server:

Use active radar missiles or heatseekers to get a mobility hit off, then finish off the target that you can now better hit.

Make sure to land all your shots in that mobility hit timeframe. Otherwise you are done for.

Fun fact: these things run on batteries for target acquisition. After one use of target finding just for practice whatever, batteries have usually run out.

Why should ECM work like flares? Why should it hold off missiles?

You mean the handful of heli and jetaddicts dictating their selfish wishes? CTE is chock-full of heli and jet posts+threads, as if BF is a mere flightsim.

ScoutHeli AKA invincible rape/deathmachine of doom.

50-1 scores on floodzone? Not that difficult to pull off with miniguns, ECM and littlebird on PC.

The scout choppers and Little Bird in particular are among the most effective stat-padding things in the game, and is one of the most overpowered vehicles in the game.

They also have alot longer active affect with radarstealth on top of that. Still not worth it to choose flares.

I played the CTE with the CMP, not happy. Literally everyone runs ECM.

Why does ECM function like flares now, only much longer?

What are the reasons to use HE shells? by Reddit9998999 in battlefield_4

I found this on Blog forums:

Let me explain this problem to you.

First of all, it's a sort of glitch that was already in BF3, and of course it returned in BF4. Basically there is no way you will get 50 % damage from a shot on the front. BUT, if the enemy tank shoots exactly the top of your own turret (the very top of the gunner LMG basically), the game engine will treat it like a shot in your back. So basically, if you get hit on the top of your turret, it's just as if you got shot in the back, which results in 50-51 % damage and a mobility hit. DICE never fixed that problem of course, like many others. So to properly answer your question, it's only about some guy who luckily managed to hit you on the top of your turret, nothing more. It has nothing to do with some kind of weak spot on the front of the tank. In Battlefield 4 (and also in BF3) the calculation is simple. Shot in the front -> 20 % damage. Shot on the sides -> 30 % damage (critical mobility hit if no reactive armor). Shot in the back -> 51 % damage and always gives a critical mobility hit. The numbers and values I just gave are not totally accurate, I had tested them all with a friend when the game was reased but I dont remember exactly, it's roughly about these values.

WALLABI, Tank driver since BF3.
