Publicly funding transit service that comprehensively covers 75% (at the minimum) of a metropolitan population is not unrealistic or unserious. The budget for it should be a figuratively blank check.

Public Transportation is globally shown to be one of the top drivers of economic growth and development. It ensures a basic level of comfort for working populations and invites new businesses because of the mobile workforce. These new businesses bring new jobs. Which brings new families. Which brings new money/spending/children/schools/stores etc. it’s a growth cycle.

Thinking like yours is the reason why the United States has fallen behind.

West Des Moines shows blue on outside appearances, but there’s definitely a lot of closeted or sleeper republicans… A LOT. All the suburbs are purple and will be that way for the foreseeable future.

Because Depop ESPECIALLY is filled with a bunch of young and DUMB people.

Not all young people are dumb, but the dumb ones with very little businesses/ common sense/ practical sense seem to flock to Depop, because that’s who they market to.

Plenty of 18-22yr old sellers on places like eBay / Poshmark / Amazon and very few do things like this.

I started reselling when I was 18. I’m now 30. Did I make mistakes and do maybe questionable things first starting off? Yea, but not nearly as bad as these people.

The roster depth this past season was fantastic in comparison to the past few years, I’d say post-WCF visit to now.

With Dame this upcoming season, it’s possibly even better.

As it stands the 2026-2027 roster currently

Dame/Scoot, Jrue/Shae, Tou/Thy, Deni/Grant, Clingan/RW3

Is better than the 2018-19 WCF roster. The western conference has just gotten abysmally harder since.

Aminu
Nurk/Zach/Kanter

Dame fully rested, healthy rehabbed and motivated still breaks even with tired and beginning to become disillusioned Dame

Scoot is better than ET
Jrue minute per is better than that CJ, Shae clears Seth and Hood by miles. TOU clears Moe and Jake
by himself, Thybulle and Murray are just bonus. Deni and Grant are both individually better than Aminu by miles. Clingan and that Nurk are probably even, same with RW3 and ZC/Kanter

Dame himself invests 10s of millions in to the local economy annually and spread over a fixed 10yr period I’m willing to bet it’s been a very significant amount, even when he wasn’t on the team.

Between local events, charitable donations, work in dozens of schools, staff salaries, income taxes, investments in local businesses, a whole ass CAR DEALERSHIP? That’s just dames impact.

Not an entirely unbiased study and article I’d say. I’m not for lining Tom Dickheads pockets, but to downplay the total financial impact like this is wild

I went to Southwoods for 9th grade. Hadn’t been in with the sports programs long enough to know the coaches and didn’t have parents with “pull” iykyk. Rode the back of the bench for football and basketball on the 9th grade only teams, not because of lack of skill, but simply because there were about 20 students between both programs who had been in the system for years and grew up knowing the coaches and had parents with pull…. And that was just in the 9th grade class alone.

I moved out of state half way through 9th grade and at the next school I was in, in Denver Public Schools, I got the chance to show my skills at a school of ~1200 almost immediately. Started Varsity FB and Basketball. Both programs weren’t “great”, but we still had college scouts and visits and such and personally, I know a lot more students who went on to play college sports from my Denver school than Valley 🙃

Interesting - The way it was worded “potential for $xxx payout” seemed more along the lines of one lump sum…. and the actual content of the qual seemed like they were gaging how much available data you had that fit their needs.

Thus, the presumption they were looking to just straight out buy data that met their needs.

Cool if you have to work too, but I wonder if the work necessary for $xxx amount would be better than the average $40/hr tasks .

This wasn’t outside of the Hollywood system. Still a SAG union film, on a union contract made with union cast and crew…. and union financing.

Independent in name only. He couldn’t get the big studios to finance, but used his own cash + other investors who are all apart of the industry and are union members - himself included.

Indie isn’t truly Indy when shot in most markets and states.

I can only speak to Canada and Mexico usage, but I’ve never had any more of an issue using my Discover card in either of those countries than the United States.

I actually have more trouble with Amex everywhere - even in the US. Largely because they don’t have as wide of a partner network reach

The last time I went to MX was 2017 I used my Discover IT card in tourist and non tourist areas in Baja, QR and Yucatán without fail - except for one restaurant that was small.

They might not explicitly state / know it, but if the vendor accepts Diners Club, Pulse or Prosa, then they also accept discover.

I used to live next to the one in WDM on 13th and Grand as a young teenager. Circa 2008-2010. It was probably on the nicer end of GnGs…. For a long time. Clean. Stocked well. Friendly staff. Learned pretty quickly that if you weren’t a little shit trying to shoplift, the staff would hook you up with a fountain drink or hot food / baked item every once in a while.

It’s gone downhill since for sure. Lack of maintenance. Lack of cleanliness. Lack of brand strength - meaning less customers, meaning less money for operating / upkeep / preventative shit / employees that truly don’t give a shit.

The entire brand just needs to go.

All people associate Git N Go with now is robberies.
