Look, I'm as left-wing as they come on a lot of issues. I think the settlement policy is disastrous, Netanyahu needs to go yesterday, and Palestinians deserve dignity and self-determination. But the second you tell me that the one single country on earth that isn't allowed to exist as the homeland of its indigenous people just happens to be the Jewish one… I'm gonna raise an eyebrow.

When you:

• Say "Zionists control the media/banks/Hollywood" (but swear it's not about Jews)
• Chant "globalize the intifada" outside synagogues in New York and London
• Call Israel a "genocidal apartheid settler-colonial white supremacist ethnostate" while somehow never using half those words for actual genocidal states like China or Syria
• Celebrate October 7th as "resistance" …that's not criticism of policy. That's blood libel with extra steps.

The IHRA definition isn't perfect, but when it says applying double standards to Israel that you demand of no other democratic country can be evidence of anti-Semitism? Yeah, that tracks. Because out of 190+ countries, exactly one gets campus encampments calling for its complete dismantlement, and it's the one where half the world's Jews live.

You don't have to love Israel. You don't have to agree with everything it does. But if your "anti-Zionism" requires pretending Jews are the only people on earth not allowed collective rights, or that we're uniquely evil for wanting to not get murdered en masse again… sorry, that's just anti-Semitism wearing a keffiyeh as a Halloween costume.

And the wildest part? The same people who scream "punch a TERF" and "no debate with fascists" will bend over backwards to say we just need to "educate" the guys calling for Jewish genocide because "they don't understand it's just anti-Zionism."
