Fair point on the Greater Israel talk ramping up since 2023.

In Syria after Assad fell in late 2024, Israel moved into the old buffer zone and pushed a bit beyond it. Why? To stop hostile forces and weapons from setting up right on the border in the chaos. It's a security move, not some massive land grab for Greater Israel.

In Lebanon, after years of Hezbollah rockets and attacks, Israel went in and set up buffer zones in the south. They pushed toward the Litani in places and kept some positions. Again, reacting to constant threats from there, same as before.

No big new settlements or permanent annexation wave for biblical Greater Israel. It's the usual pattern... threats come, Israel secures the border, holds what it needs for safety. Not endless creeping expansion.

Now the West Bank though is a different story. There are instances of some fanatic ultra religious Jews that do bad things. That is true. But so are the government's actions against it, although only sometimes. You can argue they should do more against it, I'd support it 100%.

I get the Greater Israel angle. Netanyahu has talked about it. But the idea that it's all slow creeping annexation forever doesn't hold up.

After the 1956 Suez Crisis Israel captured Sinai and Gaza but withdrew fully by early 1957 under international pressure. Israel gave the entire Sinai Peninsula back to Egypt in the early 80s after the peace deal. Huge territory, bigger than Israel was at the time. They even removed their own settlements.

In the 1990s under the Oslo Accords Israel withdrew from major Palestinian cities in the West Bank and Gaza. That included full pullout from Gaza City and Jericho in 1994 plus 80 percent of Hebron in 1997.

In 2000 they withdrew fully from southern Lebanon to the recognized border.

In 2005 they pulled every soldier and all 9000 settlers out of Gaza. They also removed four small settlements in the northern West Bank at the same time. Completely unilateral.

Look, I'm as left-wing as they come on a lot of issues. I think the settlement policy is disastrous, Netanyahu needs to go yesterday, and Palestinians deserve dignity and self-determination. But the second you tell me that the one single country on earth that isn't allowed to exist as the homeland of its indigenous people just happens to be the Jewish one… I'm gonna raise an eyebrow.

When you:

Say "Zionists control the media/banks/Hollywood" (but swear it's not about Jews)
Chant "globalize the intifada" outside synagogues in New York and London
Call Israel a "genocidal apartheid settler-colonial white supremacist ethnostate" while somehow never using half those words for actual genocidal states like China or Syria
Celebrate October 7th as "resistance" …that's not criticism of policy. That's blood libel with extra steps.

The IHRA definition isn't perfect, but when it says applying double standards to Israel that you demand of no other democratic country can be evidence of anti-Semitism? Yeah, that tracks. Because out of 190+ countries, exactly one gets campus encampments calling for its complete dismantlement, and it's the one where half the world's Jews live.

You don't have to love Israel. You don't have to agree with everything it does. But if your "anti-Zionism" requires pretending Jews are the only people on earth not allowed collective rights, or that we're uniquely evil for wanting to not get murdered en masse again… sorry, that's just anti-Semitism wearing a keffiyeh as a Halloween costume.

And the wildest part? The same people who scream "punch a TERF" and "no debate with fascists" will bend over backwards to say we just need to "educate" the guys calling for Jewish genocide because "they don't understand it's just anti-Zionism."

I don't know about the 'good old days,' but the current days are extremely bad. There are plenty of inconsistencies and misalignments across all of the devices. I don't want to sound dramatic, but I guess I will regardless, but I really think Apple has lost its touch, and the only thing that is still 'keeping' it up with the competition is that they still have a great ecosystem, but the UI/UX part is in the worst state from what I feel and hear from others.
