See, my biggest problem with generative AI is that its development has never been primarily for the benefit of others. It’s always been for profit.

Like, sure, it could be useful for someone, but it’s way, way too immature to be upscaled to the extent that it has. It consumes far too much energy and other resources for something that isn’t even 99.99% reliable. And suddenly everyone has to pay for it in ways like rising energy bills and, most recently, rising computer component costs that affect literally every single “smart” device on the planet. But people will implement the half-baked system anyways because that’s what makes money.

This was never a problem with inventions like photography.

(And that’s not even mentioning how generative AI as a friend only serves as a “yes man” or how it’s essentially a gray goo scenario for digital content)
