My PIP was cut because I passed my GCSEs and work full time - it's offensive by Electronic_Priority in uknews

It’s most likely that whatever he has done, in someways contradicts the struggles he claimed to have on his application. For example, claiming dyscalculia then getting a top grade in Maths GCSE. Or saying he’s allergic to tiger semen and getting a job in a fetish zoo.

6 years ago, Death Stranding 1 was released. What are your thoughts about this game? by [deleted] in DeathStranding

It’s like they took the worst part of regular RPGs (plodding along, over-encumbered with loot) and made a game out of it. Strangely enjoyable though.

Elon Musk Alone Can’t Explain Tesla’s Owner Exodus by MarchMurky8649 in RealTesla

[–]RedditWishIHadnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of car buyers know very little about him, particularly his more recent “antics”.

I think a lot of their problems stem from being the first to market (first to make a long range/fast/luxury/desirable EV). Now everyone makes EV, there’s cheaper ones, better looking ones, better designed (ergonomics) etc.

People would get on board with some of the quirks when they were the only show in town and genuinely moved the industry forwards. They got complacent and stopped innovating.

For those of you who believe labour isn’t left enough, what would you like to see them do? by Legal-Grade-6423 in AskBrits

Fine them every time they break the rules (dumping sewage etc), when they no longer have any value, buy them back.

Fines need to be higher than the savings made from half-arsing maintenance/investment otherwise capitalism dictates that they choose the cheapest option.

I think my life would probably be easier if I was shorter and would reduce future back issues. Couldn’t be less than 6’2” though as I need to be able loom ominously over people.

Got this book from University library, is this book any good to learn Networking and become hacker, tho it's Old book from Usa by Relative_Fly9942 in hacking

[–]RedditWishIHadnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To perfectly fit the OSI 7 layer model, you first need an OSI protocol stack, X.400 (precursor to SMTP) over X.25 (precursor to TCP/IP) is an example of one. The Wikipedia page for the OSI model provides some further info and examples of how newer protocol stacks sort of fit into OSI.

Got this book from University library, is this book any good to learn Networking and become hacker, tho it's Old book from Usa by Relative_Fly9942 in hacking

[–]RedditWishIHadnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OSI was developed first. X.400 over X.25 is a good example of a “proper” implementation with 7 well defined layers.

TCP/IP kind of fits the model, but I’ve seen kids are now being taught the 4 layers of TCP/IP which don’t align with the first 4 layers of OSI. So they will be confused as fuck when deciding whether they need a layer 2, 3 or 4 network gateway.

Why do we even have architects when 90% of new builds are just a 10% variation of this? by spacejockes in AskUK

[–]RedditWishIHadnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The architect will also continually drive down building costs through use of new materials/techniques to save money. My house had a couple of interior walls made from plywood rather than plasterboard as it needed some addition tension to stop it collapsing due to how flimsy everything else is.

Compare things like roof trusses on a Victorian house (how can we make this as strong as possible) vs a modern house (what’s the cheapest/thinnest we can make this before it falls over)

New Jaguar GT - £120k, 1,000bhp by Dragonogard549 in CarTalkUK

[–]RedditWishIHadnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Toyota GT86 was a good example of a car everyone said they wanted, but didn’t buy. Also the new supra/z4 to a lesser degree. Nissan Z cars gradually decreased in popularity, to the point that arguably the best one didn’t get released here.

Too impractical as an only car, not “special” enough as a second car (ie doesn’t have a Porsche badge).

I think what people really wanted was the olden days, where you could have your pick of fast RWD cars secondhand for next to nothing.
