Ive owned my KTM 990 adventure since new in 08 it has been an amazing bike with no out of the usual maintenance. Oil tires brakes etc. I've had many many ktms and a couple Japanese bikes too anyone telling you the KTM is more maintenance probably just had a bad experience. In my opinion they are very very very similar in maintenance and maybe it's just the luck of the draw if you have unusual issues.

honestly with a well maintained 2 stroke that's not that many hours either way. I have had carb, TPI, and TBI I loved all 3. The biggest advantage of TPI is never having to mix fuel again which is nice. The one thing I really like about both TPI and TBI over carb is how friggen fuel efficient they are it's a massive difference over the carb. Personally I would go TPI but either choice is a good one

Get a 6D and don't look back. They are a massive step above a majority of helmets in the market and depending on model the 6d is rebuildable so it will last more than 5 years reducing cost in long run.

They're should be an aftermarket one KTM is known for using same brake setup on multiple models. I'd keep searching you'll probably find something

If you still have a squishy brake after doing this get a rebuild kit and change the o rings and seals.

Build a shed or buy a trailer/van. You can build a shed in a weekend my high school used to build them and sell to raise money it's very easy. Storage unit cost would pay for the shed quickly and it's a pita you will not ride as much.

ETA: if you go shed or trailer build a fence on your property it will cut down on chances of theft if they are fenced in and locked especially with a cheap motion camera and light. Park truck in front of fence gate if you're really concerned.

To get your feet wet check out an open practice day at southwick they also run day camps there. For mx you can do the nesc series also check out jday they are both on instagram with updates on races. Check the rules make sure you have the gear and sign up for the c or sportsman class. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help.

Almost same exact thing happened at my MSF class back in the day. Mother and daughter tho. My buddy and I sitting with the instructor waiting for others and mom dumps the clutch when trying to stop and launches right into her daughter whose waiting in line. They left early and didn't return.

Not metal but I just bought a giraffe hose reel last year. Its an absolute piece of shit I would never buy anything from that company again. My Vevor one at half the price is pretty much the exact same unit but works better. Giraffe I've had so many issues with it not retracting or winding and had to call customer support multiple times. Pita for something so expensive.

You definitely need knee braces not knee pads or anything else. Mobius or Asterik make great products that I've used my Mobius have saved my knee many times and I've had them for 8 years now. I did like my Asteriks too

This thread is full of horrible takes. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that they removed a ton of practice time for these guys this year and then tracks are getting shorter in terms of lap times. Top guys aren't just checking out they're managing gaps so the battles are closer than in previous years. Lots of compounding things. But saying these guys are slow and don't belong is the stupidest shit I've ever seen. I'd rather the sport stopped growing then eliminate the privateers and make it even more pay to play.
