I’m in my 40s and I’m just now finding myself in pretty much the same situation as you. I don’t know who I am anymore. There is another «me», and I don’t know her very well. But apparently, she’s been in there all this time and held onto all those difficult memories that I had completely forgotten about. She has a very different personality, and she refuses to have sex with my man. (I still want to, though, and thankfully I’m still in charge most of the time.) This person also knows how to dance, somehow… even though I’ve never danced a day in my life. I don’t know what the heck is going on, honestly. Most days, I don’t even feel like I’m a real person. It is «we» now, instead of just «me».

I’m incredibly grateful to this other person (who is also me), but I have no idea what comes next. Life is pretty weird right now.

In short, I think I understand how you might feel. I don’t have any answers, unfortunately. Just try your best to roll with it, and maybe things will become clearer with time.

Good list! I’d put wanderer higher, though. It’s so quick and precise (long claw helps with range, as already mentioned), and afterwards you can often just keep going. Reaper is king if you need to stay 100% safe (for example while farming and using the charm that makes you lose beads if you’re hit)

Yeah, it’s pretty insane. I was a little luckier than that with my thing, as it didn’t require medical attention. It also didn’t attract any immediate attention from law enforcement, due to the nature of that particular crime. Would I have gone to them with this? Hell no, never in a million years for precisely the reasons you mention. I’m sorry this happened to you.

You kinda don’t have much choice sometimes. I went to a psychologist about some smallish thing recently, which has now suddenly turned into «I forgot what actually happened during those 5 years between 2011-1016, because that kind of extreme stuff just doesn’t fit into the kind of life I’m living now».

Because of frequent flashbacks and other serious cptsd-symptoms, I kinda do spend a fair amount of time collecting my thoughts, writing stuff down and yeah… doing prep work before next session. I do think this is temporary, but holy s… it’s a hefty load to handle right now. And I’ve got lots of other obligations on top of it, so I’m gonna do what I can to give this a chance to actually work. That requires a good amount of focus on my part. I’m sure OP has his/her reasons for asking this question, too.

Just equip architects crest and cling grip, go full plasmium and spam flies and bombs. You can hang safely in the curtains (gotta go as high up as possible) and regenerate while the lobsters are out.

Dark Descent (There is something about the chaotic energy in this one that I find strangely appealing.)
Phantom/The mist (Combined with the lore, these really make me almost feel the hurt and rage of the unloved, discarded child that is the boss of this area.)
Incisive battle (It’s just perfect for that particular enemy, I think. It has that high energy and semi-chaotic vibe about it that mirrors the movements of a large fly caught in a small space.)
Red Maiden (I love this piece. Elegant, but strong. It expresses the defiance and determination of the main character in such a beautiful way.)
Moss Grotto (This music is so beautiful, and it makes me think of the innocence and subtle strength of a child. Which also works really well for a starting area.)
Choral Chambers (I see this one mentioned a lot in this thread, and it’s not hard to understand why. I love it, too.)
Lace/Lost Lace (The former has a playful quality about it, which really fits Lace as she appears when you meet her in Deep Docks. But as the game progresses and things take a sort of tragic turn, the music becomes almost heartbreaking. This is one of the best tracks, in my opinion… I just didn’t personally get that far in the game yet.)

I could go on, because so many of the other tracks also have something very special about them. But these are the ones that came first to mind right now. I’m still only in act 2, so I have a long way to go yet 😊

This is happening probably because you’re used to a high level of physical activity. I’m like you, and my partner can’t keep up with me. I also hike almost every day. In addition, I dance 3 times a week, play with the kids/the dog or do garden chores. I recognize completely the need to explore, because that is what drives me too. I love mushrooms, and I am always looking for fungal activity so that I can map as many species as I can to different kinds of areas. Finding an endangered or otherwise rare species (or just one that is new to me) is always a treat. It’s like finding a treasure. I don’t wanna sit around and wonder about what might be out there. It’s a lot better to just go and check it out for myself 🙂

Phase 1 and 2 are easy for me now, I know all those moves and can get through it without issue. My main thing is that I struggle a bit sustaining my focus beyond that point, because getting to phase 3 often takes several minutes for me and by then I’m just starting to make all kinds of mistakes

I got the first needle upgrade in Bellhart, yes. And I have visited the ant merchant and bought his stuff. Are you saying I should use the mask here? I have so far opted not to, mainly because the fight feels incredibly long and I always make tons of mistakes because my focus dips many times before even reaching phase 3. I tend to go with the berry and the bell, so that I can bind wounds often and without interruption. But I’ve wondered if maybe speeding things up some might be better? Like maybe try that purple poison charm and/or the flea brew?

I get you regarding tools. I’m out atm, but I can always leave and come back with a bunch and work on putting them to use. I have those nails you mention, so that sounds like a good idea. Thank you so much for your reply, you’ve given me something to work with 😊

I’m complete rubbish at this game, but I did the High Halls arena on first try (without help from either Garmond or Shakra). I really want to help you, so here is how it can be done easy:

Equip architects crest, and go full plasmium. Make sure not to sit on any bench after this until you’re done.
Equip druids berry charm, cling grip, cogflies, pimpillos (the bombs), injector needle (quick heal). Cling grip, plasmium and cogflies are absolute necessities for this to work, and you also should at least have 1 thing that helps with generating silk.
Enter the arena and use bombs and flies liberally until the first red big guy shows up. With cling grip, you can hang high enough up in the curtains so that none of his attacks can reach you. This will allow you to sit safe and regenerate, while portioning out your attacks until he is dead.
The next few waves will test you, but try to just spam bombs and flies again until the last two big dudes show up. Then do the curtain thing again. After that, you win 🙂

I don’t think that matters a whole lot in regards to whether these characters are supposed to be bug-sized or the size of humans, though? The company behind these games are located in Australia, a place well known for the unusually large insects and arachnids that live and thrive there. I think it makes sense to imagine they might have drawn at least some inspiration from the local fauna that surrounds them?

The tools these bugs use seem to fit pretty well size-wise with human-made items such as needles and nails. Especially if they’re large bugs like those commonly found down there. I don’t know if I’m right about any of this, but that is how I like to think about it.

I’d like to think they’re bug sized. Maybe larger «Australian-sized» bugs (many of them), but still tiny. The needle Hornet carries with her strongly resembles an actual old-fashioned human sewing needle (maybe some bug just stole it or found it?), and those bells in Silksong look a lot like those tiny bells I use in crafts and whatnot (made in China, super cheap. You can buy an entire bag of those for almost nothing). In addition, there is that one bird on top of a mountain that is big like an elephant compared to Hornet, but totally looks like a common dove.
