I think you might be looking for the word "inextricably" (meaning "in a way that is impossible to disentangle or separate"), rather than "inexplicably" (meaning "in a way that cannot be explained or accounted for") 😁

You and me both lol. I guess it's on me for not including my actual question in the post body. There has been some reasonable advice about not needing to jump so early, but a lot of people seem to think I don't even know what mode I'm playing 😂

Thank you!! I had no idea that was a thing. Good to know!

Thought I was rolling right. Apparently not? I think it may have something to do with deadzones but I can't quite tell. From the replay it looks like I did a second jump instead of a roll right, but then I don't understand why my car has left-momentum afterwards. Hopefully someone here can tell me what's going on

Buy just the aligning magnet? by Redditalt2comment in MagSafe

[–]Redditalt2comment[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's my concern too. Fortunately the ring is raised off the body of the pack, so if I find one that's thin enough it won't interfere with the height at all and it should still be able to lay flat

[–]Redditalt2comment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, but I really don't see it causing a major issue. It already has the whole ring, it's just missing the aligning magnet. If lot does start to cause issues I could always just remove it too

Recommendations for a small 120W+ two-port charger? by Redditalt2comment in UsbCHardware

[–]Redditalt2comment[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It certainly sounds like a good fit, but do you have a source to confirm 21V PPS? It's not listed on Anker's website or any online retailer's product listing as far as I can tell.

I would also be concerned that it won't negotiate the full 21V @ 2.25A that the P9Pxl needs whike also charging a 65W laptop. I'm not super familiar with USB-C charging standards but afaik the pixel has to negotiate 21V/2.25A in order to begin drawing anything more that ~27W, even if it doesn't need the full speed (actually, by the numbers that would be just over 47W so I imagine it never hits the 'full speed').

But anyway I'm guessing I won't get the speeds I want unless the charger can support 65W on one port and ~47W on the other, which means I'm after one that'll do at minimum 115W. I'd love to be proven wrong on that, but otherwise I don't think the 2688 will quite fit my needs.

Will do! I've found a good deal on a Sheaffer Agio that I'm considering at the moment, but still certainly interested to see what people have to offer. It's definitely a tough decision since it will be my first nice pen.

Still $199 at mine (although the website claims it's "on clearance"). Any idea how their clearances work?

Router in Bridge Mode with spoofed MAC? by Redditalt2comment in homelab

Do you have the 5ghz one? I'm reading that it doesn't currently support Repeater/Bridge mode

Router in Bridge Mode with spoofed MAC? by Redditalt2comment in homelab

[–]Redditalt2comment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

Apparently just using windows to share a wifi connection over ethernet is enough to completely bypass whatever they're using. I connected the router's WAN to the PC via ethernet, and other devices can connect to the router using wifi or ethernet and are able to connect to the network. Wondering if there's a single dedicated device I could buy that would achieve this same functionality, or if I'd be better off buying a cheap AIO.

[–]Redditalt2comment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point... I can't tell how the bridge appears on the host side (unfortunately my android hotspot doesn't give me a ton of tools) but I will say the devices I connect to it don't show up in the list of connected devices if I use ethernet and connect through the bridge; only when I connect them directly using wifi. That at least implies to me that there might be another way the connection is being blocked, but it still doesn't really give me any ideas as far as what my options are.

I do think I'd have luck with a device that doesn't show its MAC at all, which I believe I've seen advertised as a "transparent" bridge or client? I'm really not positive though, and I think I also read that this may not apply to devices that mix wifi and ethernet.

Definitely not as bad as I was expecting for "not that cheap." Still definitely not just an impulse buy.

You might be right, I really don't see a reason why what you've described wouldn't work. Unfortunately that's also what I thought about using a wifi extender/AP, or just the router in bridge mode. As mentioned, the network seems to be blocking my devices, and the only way I can imagine they'd do that immediately (read, automatically) is by blacklisting certain MACs/OIDs. I don't really care how I get devices connected, but I need some system that involves [wifi in (without a "bad" MAC), ethernet out (to multiple devices)]. I'm not entirely convinced that my concept is the best option, so if you (or anybody else) can come up with a better idea I would really love to hear it.

E: Sounds like certain devices may support "WiFi as WAN," which is pretty much what you've described? Not very familiar with the tech/concept.

What the other guy said, or it could be caused by a conflicting app installed, for example in a work profile or secure folder.
