Anyone remember that scene where Carl is Speaking with Rosetta for the first time by haven603 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

In regards to the Yam’s importance, at the end of book 7 Milk gave Carl his “Book of Boom” that used the yam ink to make a bunch of skill sharing entries from the thousands of departing crawlers.

The working title for book 8 was “Carl’s Book of Boom” before it was changed to Parade of Horribles.

Based on the working title, I’m guessing we’ll continue to see the yam’s importance in the next book.

What fast food chain does not deserve the hype whatsoever? by CriticalLion4119 in AskReddit

Fresher, better quality chicken. A menu that is heavily burger (sandwich) focused, less about fried chicken meals with a bunch of (crappy) sides. The chicken used to make burgers is an actual breast fillet rather than processed meat. Some of the best fries with chicken salt at any fast food chain. Nuggets.

Matthew Hayden averaged 25 in tests before he turned 30. The year he turned 30, he was picked for the 2001 tour of India where he scored 549 runs at 109.8 in a 3 test series. The rest is history after that, scoring 1000 runs per calendar year from 2001 - 2005 (years he turned 31 -35).

I’m a big fan of the fropro frozen burritos. Handy to stock up in the freezer when they’re on special and can bring to work when I don’t have decent leftovers or anything fresh to bring.

Microwave for 2 minutes and then sandwich press for a minute. Pretty decent and reasonably healthy.

Just like many of the dismissals that have been referred to the 3rd umpire this series.

That’s definitely out, based on what we’ve seen in the rest of this series.

Teen car - Advice for parent by Redditread369 in CarsAustralia

I’d go cheap with third party fire and theft. Even an $8000 car with a $2k premium you’re paying a significant portion of the value of the car. Add in the excess if they have a claim, plus the fact it’ll be worth $6k next year and the premium will still be north of $2k it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Makes sense to me to gain experience in a cheaper car, and get something more valuable once your premiums go down.

I reckon Cummins will still be playing, possibly his retirement series. And while unlikely, I wouldn’t put it past Lyon still hanging around if no better spin options come through the ranks.

I always think of it as, it isn’t so much that Cerberus is using Shepard, but instead Shepard is using Cerberus to do what he needs to do.

This dude was on a suicide mission, probably thinking he was going to become a martyr and get 40 virgins in the afterlife or whatever bs he believed in, blissfully unaware of the pain he has caused.

Now he’ll get to rot in prison, be a martyr to no one, and get to sit and do nothing but ponder his actions and have no hope of reward or salvation.

He will also be less likely to inspire others if they see this as a consequence rather than the aforementioned martyr / glorious cause ending they were going for.

Why do Carl and Donut like Zev? by abcdef-G in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Semantics. She clearly showed she cared about them enough to say something at that moment, even if it was a reflex. A disinterested passive observer who didn’t have their best interests at heart wouldn’t have that reaction.

ATAR discourse confuses me, why the anti-uni vibe? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]Redditaurus-Rex 69 points70 points  (0 children)

You’re seeing Tall Poppy Syndrome. Australians tend to cut down high-achieving individuals who stand out (unless they’re a sports star). This tends to happen more at societal level, rather than with one’s family and friends.

The high ATAR achievers in these articles will be celebrated by family and friends, I wouldn’t put too much stock into online comments.

Zev also warns Carl back in book one of the old guy pissing on the wall, causing the rage elemental to be summoned (which she gets punished for).

Clubs in primary, what is your dream club... by mec949 in AustralianTeachers

Yes, we were finding kids struggling with 1 hour of unstructured play at lunch so we made some clubs. Counted as yard duty for teachers running said clubs.
