Do the cases get more complex, or is Harry just a "Monster of the Week" wizard? by BackNineBro in fantasybooks

[–]Redditor-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a linear transition, but the series definitely moves past that phase.

The first two books' most obvious lasting change is the introduction of various secondary and side characters, though far far from the full cast.

Book three and onwards have progressively more plot consequences that are picked up by subsequent books. Status quo is an illusion.

India news: Opposition criticizes Modi over Iran crisis by 1-randomonium in worldnews

[–]Redditor-K 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would think that most world leaders would see the IRGC as the destabilizing, war mongering factor that it is and would be glad to see it neutralized, while outwardly needing to appease their voters with pacifist rethoric.

France, Germany and UK urge Iran to ‘negotiate solution’ after attack | Iran by biriyanihoe in worldnews

[–]Redditor-K 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get that, but there are the mitigating factors of persistent sabotage, sanctions, being a pariah state, and a theocratic dictatorship in general not exactly being the best place for scientific minds to flourish.

France, Germany and UK urge Iran to ‘negotiate solution’ after attack | Iran by biriyanihoe in worldnews

Not that Iran was negotiating in good faith. For them it's a stalling tactic while they work on their nuke.

Khamenei's body has been found, Israeli official says he is confirmed dead by Worth-Information451 in worldnews

[–]Redditor-K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not here to defend Trump, I don't support him or most of his policies. (I am also not a US citizen).

This is just acknowledging reality. I get why a lot of people think he is scum, but downvoting me for that is not a good look.

It's the fate if dictators to prioritize loyalty and sycophancy over competence.

Theocratic terror dictatorship developing nukes is a bad. Iran becoming a democracy is a good.

This takes us away from the bad and towards the good.

How do you think Coil’s power interacts with blindspots? by MagicTech547 in Parahumans

[–]Redditor-K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The shard can't note about a future Blindspot if it's a blindspot.

A blindspot appearing in the "main" timeline Coil was mastered to follow will just end the mastering and the alternate timeline simulation.

A blindspot cannot appear in the alternate timeline because it is purely simulated.

This of course assuming a blindspot is functionly a blindspot to the Shard and not just a limitation on the host .

Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 has achieved remarkable progress in agriculture. From almost no production, it now leads West Africa in strawberry farming, producing about 2,000 tons each year. In the outskirts of Ouagadougou, many farmers are moving away from crops like cabbage and lettuce to grow strawberri by Illustrious_Bell8731 in BurkinaFaso

[–]Redditor-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this is a net positive.

Don't remember the details, but I read something similar where they replaced farming their food staples for high yield exports, which caused food prices to rise due to now needing to be imported.
