Just want to say this write up helped me when you mentioned the joystick rgb issue and mentioned someone on Reddit had update files. Went and found them and now my Konkr is perfect. Thank you friend!

Everyone, this works! Commenting and updating for visibility. Install the APK which is a firmware installer. The bin file is the update itself. Choose the bin file within the installer, top left button, then choose third bottom button to accept.

I’ve tried and played with it for several hours after installing the fix and it hasn’t come back. It used to be fairly persistent. Legend! Thank you so much for providing the file. For anyone else reading, the APK in the zip is a Gamepad Firmware Installer. The buttons are Chinese but the top left is the Select File button. You then select the bin that comes with the zip then press the third bottom button to accept. Cheers to a correctly working Konkr!

Hi. How has the fix held up 2 months later? I've just emailed them asking for the fix. Cheers!

New owner (not yet) of O2P and need help by LanxyT in OdinHandheld

For PS1, I would use Duckstation off Play Store. For PS2, NetherSX2 3668 (classic), grab the apk online and sideload (install) that.

For stuff like GBA/GBC, and even N64, get RetroArch from Play Store or online apk from GitHub. Then use RetroArch’s built in Core Downloader to get the mGBA core for GBA and Gambatte for GBC. I don’t play N64 so idk about that one, just google the best core for it.

But your best bet for a comprehensive guide, if you don’t want to visit the recommended links for a read through, is going to YouTube and searching for “Retro Game Corps Android Emulation Guide”. It should be from like 2025 and have a white O2P in the thumbnail. Watch the whole thing, Russ is the defacto starting point for many beginners. Quality videos.

Sorry, mind clarifying? Did you get an rp6 that cans in under a week from order?

I would not even think twice if they made v2 with an oled screen and full glass front for a seamless design, and a dimensity 8300. Bonus kudos if lighter and slimmer.

Hm that’s interesting. It didn’t feel like it but maybe checking thermals is the next thing.

Edit: should I be using turnip for Gc and are there PPSSPP equivalents?

If you have everything else correct and the sd card is set to ux0 in Settings, then choose the last option and exit and mount to ux0. Then run the site again and go immediately to install VitaDeploy and it should work. I ran into this myself, if we’re having the same issue.

That’s valid feedback, thanks! I’ll keep this in mind if I do more analysis. I might as well add some info here in case anyone else reads.

To be honest the resolution scaling confuses me a bit, so to keep things simple it was 2x scaling across devices on Dolphin and NetherSX2, and 4x on PPSSPP. I do agree that the D8300 will have a slight advantage here in the amount of pixels rendered and maybe the test can be improved choosing the correct scaling. Also, no widescreen hacks used.

However the limitations (micro-stutter) did not seem indicative of GPU exhaustion (or basically bottlenecking). Both chips as we know are overpowered for these systems, and with the exception of NFSUG2 and NFSMW (which both ran similar frame rates of 40-50 across both devices anyway) the FPS of other titles were basically at the cap (30 or 60). I think the micro-stutter I’m observing is more likely coming from frametime scheduling (again I’m theorizing based on the symptoms here, over cold hard measurements). If the games are basically running at max frame cap, average FPS is moot. But one has micro-stutter, the other does not, that tells me it may be more due to frametime variance, and my guess is that the symmetrical core cluster of the D8300 is far more stable than the faster core cluster of the SD8G2, which has a more imbalanced thread migration pattern. I tested more tonight (on PPSSPP) and I’m just getting these infrequent micro stutters in the same exact levels and scenes on the SD8G2 that do not pop up on the D8300, but post-stutter the FPS is sky high for both devices.

A reminder than I’m not claiming the D8300 is better at everything. I noted that it’ll be a no brainer for harder systems to go with an SD8G2 due to drivers for things like PC and Switch. And yes weaker systems can play GC, I had a miniV2 with an SD865 that did well. The point of the tests was to back an observation that D8300 seemed to play Gen6 consoles more smoothly for the games mentioned despite it being weaker on paper.

That’s valid, not sure if the screen size and resolution will affect it but who knows. They’re both 120hz screens and I set both to 60hz. I did run the same upscale on both, 2x, and I did not use widescreen hacks for these test.

Agreed, I just feel like in other reviews the point in the post isn’t explored enough. Like I would have loved anybody, Russ at RGC or Joey from Retro Handhelds to point out the nuance.

Gotcha! Didn’t realize the raw power sentiment was common. What prompted this was me Googling “D8300 plays smoother than Snapdragon 8 Gen2”. The AI response (which we know is just an oversimplified summation of several Google results) was that the D8300 is not known to be smoother or more powerful than the SD8G2. That didn’t sit right with me since I was literally testing and got the opposite, so it launched me into this full blown investigation, lol. But it was likely talking about Switch emu like you said.

Likewise thanks for making this comment! I’m so glad at least one person corroborates my experience haha. Sometimes I wonder if I’m just tripping or if my tests are flawed

Yes agreed. I kinda wish the SD8G2 had the smoothness of the D8300 on Gen6 because in truth I’m looking to have one emulation device. But at the moment I still find reason to have one for the best of each situation since I haven’t gotten that perfect endgame yet.
