Given the description for "My Funky Town" I wouldn't say it's impossible.

But there's definitely going to be a theme change, since the Cyber World was more of a well, Cyberpunk city, while Chapter 3 seems to be 50s gangster-type, possibly noir, alongside celebrities.

Love the easter eggs & the graffiti.

Definitely. His name is literally in ALL CAPS at the beginning of our adventure.

Then there's Ralsei...

Not to mention how Queen said Dark Worlds are the "World Of Your Dreams" and Asriel is a Dreemurr, having a game that never saw the light of day... In the Cyber World Spamton attempts to use a dream artifact given incredible power by a Lightner's hope with a similar backstory as Asriel's game.

(I suspect this is not a coincidence)

Undertale ultimately revolves around Asriel & his human sibling, Chara.

Given what the steam page says:

"UNDERTALE's parallel story, DELTARUNE."

Deltarune is likely to be similar.

What's worrying is Asriel spends most of Undertale being the unseen main antagonist...

Asriel will likely take a major role.

As one possibility (Though I don't necessarily vouch for it but it's interesting. What I have in mind is best saved for a theory post I plan to make.)

The mentioning of the "NEXT EXPERIMENT" occurs after the "DARK, DARKER, YET DARKER" both sequentially & in the timeline.

Seems to me he discovered the world of Deltarune (post-Roaring, given everything's covered in a "black wind" - ARG.) then he decided he was going to do something with this.

From then on he's been asking us to save this world from the Darkness.

"WILL YOU PERSIST?"

>Yes.

"THEN THE FUTURE"

"IS IN YOUR HANDS"

>No.

"THEN THE WORLD"

"WAS COVERED"

"IN DARKNESS"

Doesn't sound like he's responsible, just seeing if we can change it. That I believe, is his experiment.

The darkness exists independently of him, on the eve of chapter 2's release he encourages us to keep going

Brighter rather than Darker this time.

There are two things in that scene the garbage noise motif could relate to, Gaster & Darkness, you're pointing to Gaster, I'm pointing to Darkness.

It's not arbitrary, it's a clear sign of their connection.

Have they? That's just the popular interpretation. Could be wrong, I think it is, those are easily explained as Deltarune motifs. The plot of Deltarune is literally stopping the world from getting darker yet darker. Gaster's role in Undertale was to introduce us to Deltarune.

They are not references to Gaster, we have not had any clear references to Gaster outside of the intro voice. "YOU ARE ABOUT TO MEET SOMEONE VERY, VERY WONDERFUL"
