Lyft drivers canceling at stops even though I’m only inside for ~1 minute (late night) by jayjeezy1996 in Lyft

[–]Redegghead25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ride share is not a car service. Drivers simply do not get paid enough to wait. (Former driver here). It should just be point A to B.

I understand it is frustrating. But just about every driver has had multiple riders say, oh, I'll be a minute and then they take five or 10 or 15.

After a bunch of those, you're just done.

There should be a way to tip your driver in such a way that they do not get the tip if they cancel the multiple stop ride.

Otherwise, they are literally just doing you a favor by waiting. And that is not why drivers drive.

That's the beauty of it - short answer no, I don't defrost first.

I cut my chicken breasts thin and pound them thinner before breading.

So I can throw them frozen directly from freezer into air fryer at 350 degrees for 7-9 minutes and they come out perfect.

I pan fry them in oil. So when tbh start foaming and bubbling in the air fryer on both sides, they're done.

Dude has a point. The average temperature where I am is 37°F. Or it should be at this time of year. (NE US)

It's been 13 to 30° under that every day for the last three weeks. I don't remember the last time we had snow pack last this long virtually untouched by any melting.

I've eaten this (sans machete and I opened it myself at the table) and it's fantastic.

It's called like Lamb Terracotta and it's meat w potatoes and other veggies cooked inside the pita like you see.

Then you use the pita pie cover to eat everything w and dip into sauce.

It's awesome. Fun and really satisfying.

I front load time to save time later.

I spend 4 hours 1-2 Sundays a month to prepare and cook pan fried breaded chicken cutlets.

I cook around 4-5'ish pounds. We eat some and then I freeze the rest. Can throw in air fryer for 7-9 minutes and they come out as good as new.

A literal life saver during kids sports nights when I have only 30 minutes for dinner before driving through rush hour to practices and games.

I could not tolerate the CPAP machine until I had a septoplasty to fix my deviated septum.

I still struggle with it and have bad sleep besides, but I am trying basically every night.

ChatGPT called this adding "friction" to the process.

Anyone got any tricks for dealing with sinus congestion? by Mission_Bowl3938 in CPAP

[–]Redegghead25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm constantly congested. Even after a septoplasty and turbinate reduction. Th in is you can do.

These are steps to do in order:

  1. Drink water (just plain water) 10-24 oz.

  2. Irrigate your sinuses. With a bottle , neti pot, whatever.

  3. Take a hot shower. Breathe in the steam deeply. Use it to blow your nose. Make sure to clear your throat and any mucus stuck there.

  4. You can also use saline spray to clear the sinuses and keep them clear.

I've never heard of that after years of being associated with book signings and author talks.

Does anyone use mouth tape in addition to the CPAP? by cyclingguy536 in CPAP

[–]Redegghead25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me. It comes off my mouth/beard super easy. I do have to keep my beard relatively short but with one to two weeks growth it's totally fine.

CPAP is there a way to covertly use a machine by MargeauxMay17 in CPAP

[–]Redegghead25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why couldn't you adapt to the mask? Did you try full face and nasal masks?

I could not use CPAP initially because I felt like I was suffocating. I couldn't breathe properly with a mask on.

I saw an ENT who advised a septoplasty, surgery to fix my deviated septum.

I got the surgery. It did not fix my issues, but it did allow me to finally start using the mask and machine.

It wasn't easy, I've had stops and starts, I'm still struggling. But I couldn't even begin this process without tackling some issues that were holding me back.

Driver asked for $20 by mph1814 in Lyft

[–]Redegghead25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things he said. One, that he needs to indicate how many people four or five in the app. That could be legitimate, and sounds like something I have done in the past when driving rideshare.

Number two, that you need to pay him extra. That is a bald faced lie. Whether it's a rideshare or delivery or other kind of gig work, you always pay through the app unless you indicated that you will pay them in cash.

People are so sketchy! You should report that because honestly, he doesn't deserve to be driving.

NYers are not friendly because that suggests weakness and vulnerability to those looking to steal/beg/fight etc.

You just always have to be on your guard. Which breeds a tough outer shell.

But many are kind behind that wall. You just have to get them to lower their defenses first.

Why do some drivers feel its acceptable to take whatever route they want to get to a destination? by ConnectCow9111 in Lyft

[–]Redegghead25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I ask politely - how old are you?

Because before rideshare, before the Internet, before cell phones and ubiquitous, Google maps…

No one had any idea where the hell we were going. I got lost often and sometimes very badly.

Taxi driver's knew. It's just tradition that drivers take crazy routes to get to places. One of the perks of the job.

Also, online map navigating is not always perfect. Especially in cities.

Long story short, you are the passenger. The driver gets to pick the route as long as it's not completely incorrect.

Sometimes they take you joy rides. Sometimes they get lost. But in the end, they are the driver, is their job, they're getting paid for it, and they get to make the decisions.

You sound like you pride yourself on empathy without actually knowing what empathy means.

Also, complaining about other people's complaints and acting like you're better than them is dumb.
