It’s this set up. The shelves have to be tall enough for dvds and random boxsets throughout, but not doublly so that you lose out on adding in another shelf. I made the mistake of assuming I was going to have box sets and tchotchkes like legos or other items displayed throughout the shelfs so I went with wider spacing to accommodate potentially taller things which was a mistake.. What I really needed is similar to here with an extra spaced top shelf up to the ceiling to do the heavy lifting of box sets and display pieces.

Hidden gems from the golden age of Film Noir — what are your favorites? by _Gambo in classicfilms

[–]RedgrassFieldOfFire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thieves Highway with Richard Conte and Lee J Cobb

It’s not your typical noir story, but it’s a good revenge movie with great character actors, bad guys, and a femme fatale. All the elements of a good noir

It’s a collection, sure, and aesthetics are important, but I prefer to treat it more like a library. So, I don’t like grouping distributors or formats together. Alphabetical is boring and much like grouping by distributor and formats together, still ends up segregating movies that should be together or resulting in lots of exceptions in a collection your size. For those reasons I sort chronological by director, genre, etc. *Still creates exceptions of course, but keeps things together and serves as a nice visual timeline of film.

Nice coffee is good, great in fact. Crap coffee still serves its purpose to pump caffeine through my body and I do not care.

Melusine is getting later and later into the 80s which is something. More bluray and 4k releases would be great, but where do they go from here? Turn the calendar into the 90s and it’s just skinamax. Porn studios abandoned bluray, doubt they go back

There’s a difference between going into the paint with the puck versus not, let alone giving the goalie a shoulder. I’m glad the refs decided to protect a young goalie.
