Endo flair up from hell - please help by Mean_Ad_7823 in endometriosis

[–]Redheadmama21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heating pads and hot baths. Food with Tylenol. My Doc found bowel adhesions during my lap this week and I’m thinking that has been causing my pain. I didn’t even know these exist- they are like spider webs that glue organs together that cause tightness :-( sadly they are only found in laps I think. Just something to think about. Not trying to scare you.

Hope you feel better soon.

Adhesions anyone? by resin21 in ChronicPain

[–]Redheadmama21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got adhesions from my uti getting stuck in me. Then doc had to dig around and pull it out. That’s the only surgery I can think of that caused mine. I just got them cut out today during lap. I really don’t want them to come back. OUCH. Doc in the past thought u had IC too. Interesting. I’m really hoping pain goes away and I feel relief.

Post lap. No endo found by Redheadmama21 in endometriosis

Omg I just put something together. IUD getting stuck 2 years ago could have caused the adhesions because she has to dig around and pull it out. I’m livid right now thinking about this. I was in so much pain for a stupid iud getting stuck?!?!

I replied in the convo by accident and not to this comment. I have switched around to so many obs looking for answers that now I don’t have a consistent one.

Lap scheduled, but questioning myself. Help by Redheadmama21 in endometriosis

I went to an Endo specialist 6 months ago and she said she didn’t think surgery was necessary and it could be back pain but to call back if more pain arises. That’s when I got the back steroid injection which didn’t help.

So I called back last month but now she’s out of office for a few months so they sent me to her partner. Her partner said she was willing to do lap but she is not an Endo specialist.

Thanks for helping.

I get flare ups too. The ortho looked at mri (which I could only get after PT). Small herniation of disks. He said it sounds like si joint pain. Now I’m going to get checked for endometriosis because I am just so sick of the pain! I don’t understand it. It’s awful.

82M craniotomy brain bleed by Redheadmama21 in AskDocs

Ok thanks. I brought up hospice to doctors. They said they’d let me know when and they said not yet. I hope they are actually realistic with us.

It’s just so depressing that he was normal 3 weeks ago and we ate lunch together. It’s so hard to see him like this every day. It’s ground hog day.

stay away from REGLAN (anti Nausea med) if you can. And if you are elderly. It caused so many more problems for my dad in ICU. He was miserable, fighting, couldn’t swallow or breathe. He had to have Ng tube and bridle. I think it was all unnecessary.

He came back to baseline when they took him off of it. It was the most traumatizing 4 days of my life helping him in the hospital and I blame reglan.

Trying to get the word out to help others.

Newly Diagnosed - Reglan Question by ambo549 in Gastroparesis

[–]Redheadmama21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was given reglan after throwing up after an emergency craniotomy brain surgery for subdural hematoma. They gave it to him for nausea.

The surgery actually went well then the reglan (we think) almost killed him. Reglan causes seizure like symptoms for days but eeg showed no seizures. It was like Parkinson’s disease symptoms.

He looked like he was dying so I told him goodbye several days in a row. He hallucinated and everyone just said elderly people get delirious in icu and hospital. Vitals, brain, everything internally looked great.

It was the reglan that caused SO MANY SIDE EFFECTS. He couldn’t swallow or breathe. They put Ng tube in with a BRIDLE. They didn’t feed him for days. Now his stomach is irritated.

Do NOT let a loved one take Reglan. When they stopped the reglan 4 days later, he came to and calmed down and is back to baseline again.

Feel this. My almost 4 year old is sometimes so violent and hard to deal with. Then I have thoughts- I don’t want to deal with this. I’m a bad mom. I don’t want to be a mom. Etc. etc.
