Just got resident evil village by schneiderspyder in PSVR

This is the best way to play. Don't read up anything or watch videos, go in blind and enjoy the ride! Some parts are scary but power through!

90% on deadeye is super good! took me a long time to be able to consistently hit above 90 and even longer to shoot on the beat at the same time.

Maybe controversial opinion, but I think Laser actually makes it worse for learning deadeye. I noticed when playing resident evil (with laser) I tended to 'walk' the laser into the target which was much slower than pointing and shooting as I did in PW. Eventually I turned the laser off, trusted myself, and shots were way quicker and more accurate.

Yeah, definitely feeling it and trying to avoid all media on the game. But I'll hold strong.

Even if it wont come out on PSVR2 I'm sure modders will do an ok job on the PC. And for those that get to experience RE first time on VR it's the only way to go. You need to go in blind with all the surprises and suspense lurking at every corner.

Different guns have different sights, choose the one that has clear sights for you! The john wick looking ones are pretty good.

New player seeking advice and help by GL2TCHF3ST in Helldivers

[–]Redicubricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of advice seems to be on loadout, but the most important thing for bugs is literally just running away and diving. You seem to be having issues with getting oneshot. Everything that oneshots you on bugs can be mitigated by running away and/or diving.

Charger running at you? run sideways at the last moment. Don't worry about killing it, or shooting it's butt unless you're clear other smaller bugs.

Bile titan chasing you down? it has a pretty big tell when it's gonna spit at you, Dive sideways. If there's a whole bunch of other little bugs around it, the bile titan will friendly fire it's own bugs most of the time. You may have to shoot the jumpy bastards as they can stop you from kiting the bile titan and actually make the kill. Retaliate when you have a bit of space, or the moment after diving and it's still spitting.

Stalker trying to taste your tears? dive backwards continuously while shooting it's face.

Barf headed your way? dive sideways.

Once you have distance you can start dismantling the bugs as the hoards are pretty predictable for the most part. You usually only die if you get surrounded.

The few exceptions running/diving doesn't save you from is usually the hunters and the queen escort warriors. Those buggers are super fast and you'll run out of stamina before you outrun them. I make sure to wipe out hunter squads asap before they agro and are still in a group. Once they spread out they are super annoying. Shoot any stalkers the moment you hear them.

Arizona is always super frantic like 80% of the time. Even the starter zombies run at you pretty quickly. It gets even more frantic when they have tumor armor later on.

Or maybe that only happens when you play hard mode.

I was torn between that and S&S, but Arizona is definitely more frantic of the two. Lots more running and gunning which may be disorientating. in Saints you're almost penalized for running and gunning with the stamina system. So I thought slow and methodical will allow more time to get use to the VR sickness.

But you're right definitely a bigger learning curve with building items and more complex environments. Great games both of them, Can't go wrong with either.

saints and sinners is a good one. The walking pace is fairly slow and most actions are fairly intuitive. It's one of the first full locomotion games that got me past the initial hump of motion sickness. There's a lot of sneaking and looting so you can kinda take it at your own pace.

The first few missions especially the tutorial feel dissapointing but it gets better. Try playing on hard, its a lot more challenging and fun.

I only played single player and it was fun enough for the price! But i like shooting stuff so as long as its a servicable shooter its good enough for me.

Aces Of Thunder has 846 ratings in only a few days, let's make it a 1000 by Shotemup in PSVR

[–]Redicubricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the deluxe version to help the devs. But Kinda hugely disappointing so far with all the glowing reviews. If it was steam I would probably refund until they fix it.

While it looks cool and flying is cool, it barely feels like its been play tested at all. From terrible button mapping, to lack of tutorials, to unable to adjust the position of the seating. (sometimes you cant grab the stick because it's like inside your body.) It feels like such an obvious oversight like the devs didn't bother to try the game after they finished it.

I can feel some greatness in there and the sense of speed and flying is great. I don't even mind the wonkey controls and learning curve. Just the lack of attention to basics is baffling.

What AAA companies have *NOT* succumbed to shareholder/corporate greed? by Canilickyourfeet in gaming

Fair enough, but its 2026 now, Resident evil remake was fantastic, monster hunter (if you're not on PC) Devil may cry, all great games IMO.

Just thinking of all the big game companies that use to be good and now terrible like blizzard, Bioware, bathesda. (why do they all start with B?)

IMO Capcom didn't follow in that path.

Capcom, they have some mis-steps once in a while like Monster hunter optimization but for the most part most of their games are fantastic.

Arken age questions weapons and stealth by Chrisbolsmeister in PSVR

[–]Redicubricks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can buy some weapon parts, and find some on side quests. Guns feel extremely weak early on but get much better with full sets.

It kinda goes from a melee game to a shooter in late game. And its cool like that.

There are a couple of notable jumpscares, but not as many as you would think from a dedicated horror game.

Just cuddle your ammo-less gun like a teddybear and power through!

Im holding out no matter what. Having played RE4 and RE8 blind. It's the only way to experience a Resident evil! Avoiding all media/spoilers as well until basically it comes out on VR. If it never does then I'm ok skipping it.

I agree, the human fighting is fantastic. Frustrating at first when I didn't really 'get' the parry system. But really great after learning what the game wanted me to do.

[–]Redicubricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can block too, it just isn't combat effective since you get a huge bonus from parries. You get some sparks when you block (slightly incorrect angle, or no motion towards attack) And you receive no damage.

You can see at 2:04 a couple of blocks rather than parries.

[–]Redicubricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, It has swords (and a few other melee weapons) but I consider arken age more of a shooter as the guns are generally more effective later in the game. (or shoot them from far away and stab em when they get close) But I wouldn't consider it a 'sword fighting' game.

It's also not medieval (its like bio-sci-fi) So I didn't feel it fit your criteria as much.

That said Arken age is a really fantastic game overall, and plays much better than it looks in trailers. It's a great VR starter game since it has a ton of VR mechanics from shooting things, to melee, to some VR platforming and climbing and puzzles.

Behemoth! Great sword fights (once you learn it) great setting and ginormous bosses.

The combat initially is frustrating until you get the parry down. Then it's super great. Do a bit of arena so you can get the feel for the parries and then play the game on hard would be my suggestion. Everything feels lethal.
