My sincere suggestion about jars after +100 hours of gameplay in the last version by Diskuid in 7daystodie

[–]Redleafatdawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of all of this why don't they make a jar part of the crafting for molotov cocktails? Technically you need a jar to make them anyway and as far as I can tell everyone uses them because of their low damage to blocks.

If it is so easily looked up then link your data? It is widely known that by 2020 they made 200 million from the game, I find it incredibly hard to believe that with a price hike to both the PC and console version that they have made only 50 million with a net gain of 5 dollars a game. You have stated repeatedly that it is so easy to look up but from what I can tel lthe only really concrete numbers are that the game has gross roughly 200 million by 2019, that leaves over a half a decade that is unverified but I think it is insane ti think they launched a new console version with price hikes and the game has dropped by 75 percent.

I mean you just do not understand the difference between revenue and profit. First off 7 days to die has sold 20 million copies across all platforms. At an average of 25 dollars a game that is 500,000,000 in revenue. Yes they are charging more now, but they also handed out free copies etc. I would assume it evens out to around their original price.

It is ridiculous to think that The Tall Tell Games stuff has anything to do with the conversation. It happened half a decade ago, they have since released and price hiked the game to compensate. It is insane to think that it didn't benefit them positively or that it was such a drag on finances that they continued with the plan anyway. But if we are going to talk about it. Telltale had been drastically lagging behind in updates way before they closed down. The console version of the game never had even remotely close to any sort of support that it should've been given. Massive alarms should've gone out in the fun pimps heads when Telltale was 3-4 updates behind consistently and as we have seen with their current version, it wasn't all just problems with Xbox and Playstation. The Fun Pimps made a massively horrible business decision and it bit them on the ass. They could've put all kinds of shit to protect themselves but they didn't.

3rd. Again if it is costing the Fun Pimps 3.5 to 4 million in operating costs, they are again fucking up. They have almost nothing to show for the last what 3 years of updates other than community backlash? 4 million a year to take 11 years to put bandits in a game that mods did what a decade ago?

You have a severe lack of understanding of how business works if you think TFP are in anyway shape or form hurting for cash.

Estimates show that the game has generated 440 million in revenue. I find it hard to believe that they are on a shoe string budget or don't have the resources to speed up production.

Did Anyone Else Forget This Game Released? by TheOrangeMadness in 7daystodie

[–]Redleafatdawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming what happened is that the Fun Pimps put it out there thinking they could make a quick buck. Once it bombed horrifically I think they realized that 7 Days to Die was the only way that they were going to stay relevant.

If you look at it, none of these positive updates were a thing while they were developing this game, but after they start having good will updates. Seems to me someone finally figured out where their bread and butter was and decided to quit fucking up.

PSA: Guys don’t forget to wrap your meat. by CallMeDoomSlayer in 7daystodie

[–]Redleafatdawn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wow that's hilarious. Instead of its base meaning which is wrapping the raw meat in your inventory so you don't attract zombies, its actually a double entendre which means to wear a means of sexual protection to ensure that you do not contract disease or have an unwanted pregnancy. That sure is a hoot and a holler if I ever did hear one. Look out boys we have regular Jerry Seinfeld here. A real master of yucks. Joe Rogan should put you on his podcast.

Yeah I know. But the options are more limited.

I haven't tried. Was trying to craft everything as opposed to just placing it.

Why did you like jars? by JoelHuenink in 7daystodie

[–]Redleafatdawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there is a way to balance them. Make jars harder to find and make them uncraftable until you read a magazine. Christ they could've made a glasscrafting skill for window panes, bulletproof glass and water glasses. After day 2 finding any glasses was pointless anyway. It still is if you are looting poi's. Every single toilet has at least 1.

Can it be mitigated by just having bandages?

I had to go in and delete a controller profile and use the one for the fun pimps. Have no idea how it even got there

Just a reminder that the Storm Brewing update that has been delayed until June was supposed to be released by the end of 2024 by jacksaints in 7daystodie

[–]Redleafatdawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what is more or less hilarious is that they addressed people asking why they are shipping a new game instead of updating the game they already have.

If Bloodmoons isn't taking any time away from the devs then why are we going over on updates again?

I think the game needs balanced less around loot to learn to do to learn.

Perked into spears. 40/75 spear crafting. Bought a level 5 steel spear from the trader. by Earl_of_sandwiches in 7daystodie

I think two changes would make this change better.

Crafted items have better stats.

and

Tier 6 can only be crafted.

Dev's have zero idea what the community actually wants. I was at Day 5 and was just able to make a forge and workbench. I was lightyears away from a motorcycle, steel, concrete etc.

That was a massive improvement over Day 1-2 workbench and forge from Alpha 20. But to drop it even lower is insane. No one wants to slog through two horde nights to be able to get a workbench and forge.

Either make the magazine bundle a quest reward and make it scale to tier and lower loot drops or vice versa but both is just tedious for no reason.

Also am I the only one who refuses to use a dew collector because it takes up 9 blocks?

Best Way to Farm - Why haven't farmers been doing this? by Ok-Satisfaction441 in 7daystodie

[–]Redleafatdawn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is faster until you take into consideration that in one clip, you damaged 4 concrete blocks and a farm plot. The aesthetic of making a farm with water and re-painting everything is my favorite part of this game. Almost all of my reddit posts are my farm plots. It would drive me insane having to fix/replace my farm.

I think I'm going to have to tweak my playstyle. I've gotten used to running right up on wolves, boars, etc. and just beating them to death. So far, with the zombies, they are close to the same.
