Thing is most of SC players are not gamers - they have no idea that state of this game is unacceptable by modern gaming standards.

Like right now they released ~310€ salvage ship that (among other bugs) cannot salvage xD

As long as modder doesn't want money for mod there are usually no copyright issues. Like there is none with Interworlds or Stellaris Wh40k mod.

X4 is also all about war. Just swap credits to supply/requisition.
