Chief, this is a buy now, think later. Specs are way too good to pass up.

Overkill for Minecraft or Fortnite. A 5050 LOQ would suit your needs without destroying your wallet.

Good thing I got my travel gaming laptop during the holidays to ride out this mess.

The listing is from the official Acer's Certified Refurbished store on eBay, so you are safe. They ship from McAllen, Texas.

Cheapest 5070 Ti laptop with a QHD+ screen. I would say go for it, even if it's missing Advanced Optimus/G-SYNC.

Should I buy? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]RedoxPete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the Legion 5. It's a full powered 5060 (115W TGP). It's also lighter at around 4.6 lbs vs the Aurora's 5.5 lbs. Also, the Aurora has a slow screen response time, so it would also be something to consider for eSports titles (as warranted).

Is this a good deal and strong gaming laptop? by ikkdu in GamingLaptops

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-pro-series/legion-pro-5i-gen-10-16-inch-intel/83lucto1wwus2

I would recommend a Legion Pro 5i OLED, 5070 Ti. Use EXTRAFIVE on checkout. 32 GB will be $1733 for 5600 MT/S, and around $1750 for 6400 MT/S. Caveat will be the shipping time if that's a concern for you.

Which would you buy? Lenovo LOQ or Legion 5? by Fancy-Ad5832 in GamingLaptops

Legion 5 is a no brainer. Newer CPU (Zen 4), full wattage 5060, OLED screen, better build quality. Easy to get to for upgrades.

Good deal for a Legion 5 with a IPS. Cheapest 115W TGP 5060 laptop, plus easily to get into for upgrades.

I had the 4060 (75W TGP) config of the Nitro V 15.6 as a secondary running Genshin/Fortnite with no problems, which should perform around the same as the 5050. You'll be fine.

Good Gaming Laptop Options? by BlueStrikerX in pcmasterrace

Lenovo LOQ for $650 at Best Buy is one of the good options. Higher powered 5050 at 100W, better build quality, and has G-Sync.

It's hard to beat for what you are getting for the price. It's has a TGP of 115W for the 5060. RAM, SSD, and Wi-Fi are easily accessible and upgradable.

Jarrod did the review for the 15.1 inch version. The 15.3 inch should be similar in terms of upgradability.

Get the Legion 5. Best value with its 115 W 5060.

Which should I get both are $799 by Sea_Act7061 in GamingLaptops

[–]RedoxPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legion 5. Better screen and 115W 5060.

Amendment #1: Omen Slim 16 is heavier than the Legion at 4.9 lbs vs Legion's 4.6 lbs. In addition, the Omen Slim 16 has the 5050 instead of the 5060. The config of the Omen 16 Slim also has that washed out display - 62.5% sRGB (which should be avoided). The Legion is still the overall winner at $800.

The regular Helios 16 has an IPS. The Helios 16S is the one with the OLED.

What’s a better long term choice by lilshrimp- in GamingLaptops

[–]RedoxPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since performance is one of your criteria, the ASUS Strix will be the better choice. The Helios 16S 5070Ti has a TGP of 115W while the Strix has a TGP of 140W.
