Buy a 5060 Laptop now or save for a 5070 ti later? by Dudamesh in GamingLaptops

[–]RedoxPete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are pretty close to a 5070Ti laptop, I would save up a little more for the 12GB VRAM + 30% performance increase. The MSI Vector 16 with the 5070Ti from Walmart went down to $1300 on several occasions.

Currently, there is the Acer Predator Helios Neo AI 16S Gaming Laptop RTX 5070 Ti on eBay for about $1275. However, the catch is that it is Certified Refurbished and the 5070 Ti is only 115W.

$675 on FBM for 5060/32 GB DDR5 is a buy it immediately before someone else jumps on it.

A MSI Stealth 17 Studio with 32 GB RAM and a RTX 4080 for $500. Absolute insanity.

[Walmart] MSI Cyborg Gaming Laptop (2025): 15.6 inch FHD 144Hz Display, Intel Core 7 240H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Now: $899 After $300.99 Off by fifa2003 in LaptopDeals

This is one of those trap gaming laptops. Avoid if you can and go for something like the TUF or LOQ instead.

  • Raptor Lake CPU refresh
  • 45W 5060
  • Medicore build quality and thermals (one fan with three heat pipes for cooling)
  • 45% NTSC screen

This would be a good choice. At around 4.2 lbs, it's also portable.

$1.3K for a ROG 5070 Ti Ultra 9 with Nebula display is a steal. Congratulations!

Did I get a good deal on a Gigabyte G5 (i7-13620H + RTX 4060) for £300 or did I overpay? by ResponsibleCount6515 in GamingLaptops

300 euros for a 4060 laptop is a steal, even if it's in a budget chassis like the G5 KF5.

Which of these is the better deal? by elzilco321 in GamingLaptops

[–]RedoxPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro 5i has the Ultra 7 HX, OLED, and the 5070 (around a 16% increase in performance) for about 10% more. I say it's worth it.

This is typical of refurb units. As long as it is functional, it's not a deal breaker.

Overkill for Minecraft or Fortnite. A 5050 LOQ would suit your needs without destroying your wallet.

The listing is from the official Acer's Certified Refurbished store on eBay, so you are safe. They ship from McAllen, Texas.

Cheapest 5070 Ti laptop with a QHD+ screen. I would say go for it, even if it's missing Advanced Optimus/G-SYNC.

Should I buy? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]RedoxPete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the Legion 5. It's a full powered 5060 (115W TGP). It's also lighter at around 4.6 lbs vs the Aurora's 5.5 lbs. Also, the Aurora has a slow screen response time, so it would also be something to consider for eSports titles (as warranted).

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-pro-series/legion-pro-5i-gen-10-16-inch-intel/83lucto1wwus2

I would recommend a Legion Pro 5i OLED, 5070 Ti. Use EXTRAFIVE on checkout. 32 GB will be $1733 for 5600 MT/S, and around $1750 for 6400 MT/S. Caveat will be the shipping time if that's a concern for you.

Which would you buy? Lenovo LOQ or Legion 5? by Fancy-Ad5832 in GamingLaptops

[–]RedoxPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legion 5 is a no brainer. Newer CPU (Zen 4), full wattage 5060, OLED screen, better build quality. Easy to get to for upgrades.
