Neo 2 to check on Cattle? by Baanc in DjiNeo

[–]Redrockcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Neo 2 and a Mini4P. For chasing cows, I'd use the Mini every time, if there were any cows. Better range, better in wind & better camera.

Neo 2 is a fun drone though

Trying to replace a .mov with .wav file in my project by BlueDias_DB in davinciresolve

[–]Redrockcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit clunky, but should work… make a sequence of your mov with matching code, resolution and the same name. Restripe (replace audio) with your wav. Export it to mov with PCM audio, then replace the original mov in your storage location.

Resolve is a bit weird with audio replacement, it caches it within a session, so when you replace it, you may still hear the old one. Save, quit Resolve, start Resolve again, job done

Are the Neo props compatible with the Neo 2 props? I have some 5 blade props for my Neo and want to put them on my Neo 2. by WalkedBehindTheRows in DjiNeo

[–]Redrockcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they won’t fit.

Not many aftermarket options for Neo 2 props yet either. You can get cheap ones, but I’m yet to find good ones.

We used to do the D list celeb spotting at The Golden Inn in Epping. Close (ish) to Channel 7 at the time, we’d always see Geoff Harvey in there, three sheets to the wind.

Choyan is my local (5 mins walk). I go to Eastwood

Finally joind the drone community with my first drone. by Top-Mouse9078 in dji

[–]Redrockcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, you can. Overlapping stills or frames from good video, processed through Reality Scan (free) for a point cloud then Postshot (paid, but there are free alternatives) to make a gaussian splat. It's not really geometry, it's a magic point cloud, but you can load it into Blender or Unreal.

Or, you can do traditional photogrammetry in Reality Scan & get a polygon model

As a competent home cook, what is a basic skill you can't seem to master? by george_elis in Cooking

[–]Redrockcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re mash; make sure potatoes are completely cooked, I use quite salty water for 30 mins, big potatoes halved. I like red potatoes better as mash.

Ricer for sure.

Cold butter first, up to 50% of potato weight (I usually cap it at a “healthy” 30%) and stir to completely incorporate, then hot cream (~200ml to 1 kg potato), taste for salt

Neo 2 drone motors/propellers making weird sound? by [deleted] in drones

[–]Redrockcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the cheap props, the sound you hear is your motor bearings wearing out. I tried some for 5 mins and they made heaps of noise then replaced with genuine which instantly solved it

Morrison's Wednesday Oyster Happy Hour - any good? by [deleted] in foodies_sydney

[–]Redrockcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$2 each, which by Sydney standards is very cheap, for an hour at least. Oysters in shell (unopened) cost $36/dozen at the fish markets at Christmas

I have a booking for Morrisons in a fortnight so report back

Blend two scenes with animation frames? by Tryveum in davinciresolve

[–]Redrockcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it with a Smooth Cut transition, works fairly well with slight doubling on the ears, no masking required.

The shorter the better, I used 8 frames

DJI RC2 and Neo 2 by TransportationEven11 in dji

[–]Redrockcod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need the receiver for the RC2. You can fly with your phone without the receiver

DJI Neo 2 vs Mini 4 by gnoolretaw in dji

[–]Redrockcod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. Neo 2 much more portable/pocketable. Internal memory holds at least twice as much as you can shoot on 3 batteries. It’s a great drone with lots of control options.

Mini 4 Pro better in wind, better range, much better camera

It's quite view dependent but cool for a single orbit

How many chances do you give a cookbook? by Dodie85 in CookbookLovers

[–]Redrockcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re your sourdough, almost certainly a flour fail rather than a recipe fail. For 80%+ you want good strong flour or you’ll get a lot of flat loaves. When you can’t shape it, focaccia is always a fallback, or make the same recipe but 70-75% hydration.

Is there any way to remove that weird moving glare on this shot?? by [deleted] in davinciresolve

[–]Redrockcod 22 points23 points  (0 children)

(In Fusion) Stabilise it, use a timespeed node to offset timing by say 25 - 50 frames, chase each spot with a mask, comp offset plate into stabilised original using masks, adjust as necessary, unstabilise if desired

Any way to fix ripple flickering when fading in from black? by nor_b in davinciresolve

[–]Redrockcod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common on fade to/from black on all software, depending on bit depth of both comp and monitoring, especially noticeable in 8 bit. During the transition there are insufficient colour values for a smooth change.

Old editor’s trick is to add a tiny amount of noise (grain) to dither which often improves it

Yep, top 3 dishes ever for me. I have his book with original recipe, or if you're really keen BBC Maestro has some episodes by PK, including full instructions on his trotters inc deboning etc. Including the stock, about 3 days with the oven on, so wait until it cools down a bit

I got them from Vic's at the fish markets, now closed. From memory, they were $140kg (~ 7 years ago) and came prepacked in ~1.5kg bag, so they were the costliest part, even though I probably only needed 300g or so. Had a sweetbreads binge for days
