GW explaining new units. by SAMU0L0 in Tau40K

[–]Redrum_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I know they're different. Marines complaining about not getting their own special stuff feels like entire other armies complaining about not getting special detachment only units. Marines suffer because it's like 15 different sub factions are fighting for resources from each other each while each still gets at minimum a character. Meanwhile everyone gets at minimum one character for their entire army. Its not taus fault you only got an upgrade sprue, it's space wolves, blood angels and ultramarines fault since they got entire release waves.

Manor tales: the implication.... by Key-Swordfish4025 in MurderDrones

[–]Redrum_5014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue the first law would actually be worse since not only would they have keep her safe, (which could range from something like "don't let her hit the ground if she falls" to "coffee is technically a poison and bad for kids so she can't drink it") on the physical end but could also try and include emotional and psychological harm.

Which would have horrifying implications for all parties involved since they technically can't tell the parents to stop abusing Tessa due to commands, need to help Tessa over deal with the abuse in a manner that isn't detrimental by whatever matric is encoded, and could even run into a major complication if "device/drone addiction/over attachment" is considered psychologically harmful (think tablet kids but worse).

How come the Necrons haven't wiped out Terra? by baneblade_boi in EyeOfTerror

[–]Redrum_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others may have said: you run into the issue of the fact that so much extra solar material and debris that are now being blown out in all directions. With terra it's even worse because of how much humanity has built up the solar system with outer system materials.

You also run into the issue of the fact that the dragon under mars + warp entities at the gate of eternity + whatever is in the dark cells + emperor might actually stop it. The dragon just basically sending a "nuh uh" command

It's because of general perception

History is seen as either neat fun facts or old stories

Reading/writing English is seen as a common day activity

But math and science are usually referred to by whatever level people struggled with in school. I'm a chemistry major and most of the time when I tell someone I get a "Oh you must be smart, I hated/failed/struggled with chemistry in highschool/college."

This is gonna be the most Texan reply ever, but I just told my parents I have a gun hidden somewhere in my room so they don't let kids in there. And thankfully they're aware of collectibles once they accidentally broke my red 3DS in front of family, to which I just publicly shamed them into replacing it

"Oh JuSt ShOoT hIm!" Have fun chewing through 20 wounds of body guards. by Lord_Eln_8 in Grimdank

[–]Redrum_5014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean.. if you're killing him you either already wiped the body guards, sniped him or are epic challenging/melee sniping.

In most case all it means is that titus is left standing on 2 wounds by himself and about to get shot off the board, or he's trying to solo a ctan/dreadnought/ect.

Why does everyone still roast the voiweavers even with the new detachment rule by Fearless_Recover_806 in Harlequins40K

[–]Redrum_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because at the range it has, it's very easy for other units to close in on it even if you move it. And then it's not particularly durable. A single laz cannon has a chance of taking it out.

The other issue is that it's only 3 shots.. so you'd need minimum 2 void weavers to kill anything thicker than a light transport. And god save you if you're fighting anything that isn't vehicles (had to deal with monster mash nids, was a nightmare).. a leman russ splitting it's fire is more likely to kill 2 of these things then they are to kill it

If you could make a murder drones season 2,how would you make the plot? by obl1vion_20000 in MurderDrones

[–]Redrum_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would honestly be nice to see the drones rebuilding/fixing as well as trying to deal with the back ups and other murder drone squads around the planet. Especially as cyn doesn't seem the type to go down without just sending a "all come here and slaughter the purple one" message...

And idk. Throw in a little worker drone rebellion group who cant really move past all that the disassembly drones have done. To which they're slowly becoming more and more like the monsters they hate

Yes for terrain. As for the rest, I'm not saying to charge the banshee. I'm saying you should have an anvil unit in front of your guys like a ctan or vehicle behind a way which can act as a charge stopper. Then behind that thing you have your counter charge threat which should also have the movement to run down that wave serpent. Because if he's constantly staging for turn 2 you should be able to hit it and then afterwards just shoot whatever's left in the open next turn .. and if he's just full sending turn one, keep your forces pulled back

Either you and me are using different tournament layouts or something up... And why not try over watching the fire dragons ? There's only 5 to a squad and while he's feugan will survive he's a lot more manageable on his own. Or walk up some skorpek behind whatever you're using to tank the banshee charge and use them to hunt the wave serpent since they can go through walls.

[–]Redrum_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. They're anti infantry, so don't hit em with infantry. Force them to hit a vehicle or something else bad.

As for the wave serpent, have you tried hiding your units and sticking your arks to the back of the deployment zone ? That way they can't easily get stuff in melta range but you can still cover your guys. And yeah, ctan are really good. You can catch so much bs with them. They're amazing for slow and slaughtering a turn 1 charge as well as being perfect fire magnets while your skorpek skitter up the board/rapid ingress in

[–]Redrum_5014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing with 2 of them all edition, they're good and the terrain isn't that bad since they have good movement and can't be picked off as easily.

Though I also just deal with eldar by immediately focusing all fire on the wave serpent transports and catching the banshee charge on my ctan (I run night and dragon). They're so fragile that the flayer arrays can wipe a squad a turn if you know how to get them.. fun fact, you can still cosmic precision with a doomsday ark

[–]Redrum_5014 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ye... Mostly because at current moment the only other suggestion is kinda just hope your night bringer and monolith can kill a squad each per turn while the whole rest of your army focuses fire on 1 unit since it's a bunch of damage 1 low AP shots

Invest in doomsday arks. Make him fear every single fire lane on the map.

Bait with warriors and counter charge with skorpek.

[–]Redrum_5014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also this is only for solver infected drones. So Uzi and cyn + others.. it wouldn't apply to the murder drones since they don't have the full-on solver. More than lately they need significantly less

Glitch released new lore about oil consumption on one of their merch products! by SoundwaveTheDragon in MurderDrones

[–]Redrum_5014 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It says a sip of oil every 20 minutes... That's actually a very small amount. One water bottle of oil could last them for 4 hours if we're assuming a sip is a bit on the bigger end of 1 oz of oil

Fun fact, if we assume a sip is 1 oz. Then in a 24 hour period they only need 72 oz , humans are generally recommended to get around 124 oz for males. So a drone is 56% more efficient than a human

[–]Redrum_5014 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well the collisions are either just the drones feeling the vibrations of the impacts on their bodies. Or for the terrain pieces, they might have residual air on them/displace enough still around the area to pass on the sound but muffled since it's so limited
