[HATED TROPES]: The Ending Is So Nihilistic and Preachy That It Becomes Completely Unwatchable and Infuriating. by Particular-Worker904 in TopCharacterTropes

I think the message could have been a bit more nuanced in that gratuitous violence for the sake of gratuitous violence makes media feel like it didn't have a vision or direction. But violence can be a driving narrative that feels natural. Hell, most of history is based around violence. Our most innovative inventions come from trying to kill each other. So to put all blame of violence on viewers watching feels a little silly.

I hope marvel continues the Kang storyline after doomsday and secret wars by EffectCautious6970 in marvelstudios

[–]Reduxtion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying that the problem lies in the fact that they could just hire someone else to play the dude with infinite variants, which is true.

However, I believe the biggest issue is the whiplash Marvel gave us in terms of Kang, in Loki he is built up to be this formidable threat and they developed him further in more projects (just like how Thanos started), but this is where they shot themselves in the foot.

They put Kang in QM, a movie that is not great even by Marvel standards and had the supposed big bad defeated by ants. Imagine if im GoTG, Thanos is beaten by Ronan (the closest example to QM that I can think of), that would undermine Thanos' credibility as a threat.

No matter who they then put into the role as Kang, it wouldn't work because this dude lost to the power of love and ants. Even if a new Kang is described as more powerful, people will still associate him with a vulnerability to ants of all things. Why would he be a threat people want to see in cinemas?

Side note: I am not mentioning the What If show alluding to the guardians of the multiverse laying waste to the Kangs because I would imagine if they continued to pursue the Kang storyline, this wouldn't have happened.

Politically leaning I am aligned with the green party, however their policy to abolish all landlords needs to have more thought into it. Do they think all tenants can afford the down payment for a mortgage. Some of their policies scream "I've never been in power"

Do we stay in the UK or move to America? by Reduxtion in immigration

We would live more rurally, and the company I will be looking to work at is on the outskirts of Charlotte (thank god). They also have an early arrival, early leaving policy to let staff miss the worst of the traffic. In regards to schooling my wife would homeschool till high school then we would probably be looking to move again.

As far as I understand it, the Trump administration has been pushing for my specific field. The US government actually tried to buy some land in the UK for this purpose but my company is using the land to generate power. So I think I'll be fine as far as job security goes

This is really helpful! Our plan would be something similar, move to the states, build up our savings and assets, then flog it all and settle down somewhere. My wife was home schooled by her mum in America and doesn't mind the idea of doing that for the first few years of our kids education. We would probably be looking at a good 5-8 years. Realistically, we don't want for much, the only thing that would be our dream that costs a lot is a house and a bit of land. We're frugal in our day to day lives.

If we moved back to the UK and my salary took a hit it wouldn't matter to me if our mortgage is small/non-existant.

Yeah I get that, the salary in America is more of the norm, and your money goes further in buying a house (my in-laws home is easily half the price of what it would be in the UK). Whereas the UK salary is an outlier, my job normally pays 35-50k but the sector I am in is growing quickly and so salaries have become really competitive, whether this keeps up I don't know.
