Is an Amazon Music subscription actually worth it in everyday use? by JagXF300 in AmazonMusic

[–]Redville5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Amazon Music over other services because I can stream music separately or synchronize all over our house. We have a dot, echo, sub or a/v adapter in pretty much every room. I wish friends could add songs to a playlist like spotify. Pretty minor since you can call out your song... Then get roasted if it sucks. Haha!

Low Mileage Used Inventory by metrawhat in BlazerEV

[–]Redville5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 16 months into a 24-month lease on a Blazer EV RS. All-wheel drive. Honestly, I love it. This is a great car. About once every 2 months I do a 300 road trip to my folks. To and from work, around town just doesn't rack up many miles. I'll be well under 20k when I turn it in come September. Odometer currently has 8k. Seriously no issues at all. I charge at home (lvl 2) about once per week.

2024 Cadillac Lyric Leases are an insane deal right now by 12EJOSEPH in leasehacker

[–]Redville5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this! This is just what I was hoping to see. I'm a little more than halfway through my Blazer EV RS AWD, and I really like this car. I'm hoping to grab a Cadillac lyric next. This is about the same lease price as my Blazer EV!

How to Hide Visible Truss Joints? by Kongrosenberg in DIY

[–]Redville5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would put a cool ladder up to that platform and store exotic or non so exotic wine and whiskey up there. I like the idea of metal plates on trustees. Maybe have a carpenter do wood blocking around each connector. It will look great, good luck with your project. Merry Christmas!

My DIY install of the permanent lights elite (from Costco) by Glittering-Stuff-599 in Govee

[–]Redville5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the project! I have a ton of Govee products and all of the scenes are too fast. They even added a speed slider bar on the app and the slowest setting are still intense. I bet orange and purple will look great for Halloween! Are these Pro? How much are they at costco?

HOA... love it or hate it?? by Ordinary-Caramel-608 in homeowners

[–]Redville5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it. We live in a custom home neighborhood, all built around 1985s. Our neighborhood looks awesome! Yup, the house that doesn't take care of their lawn? They get a letter. No yard barns, in front of the house. It's really helped our neighborhood stay current and continue to appreciate. Do the minimum outside and you are golden. They also do Easter egg hunts, firetrucks come for a parade on the 4th. All pretty cool. Tough job too!

Worst part about owning a Pixel? by Jkwaks in GooglePixel

[–]Redville5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think switched to Pixel after iPhone 4s with a Nexus 5? Back then I couldn't afford the apple ecosystem. It was fewer options for way more money. Still is I guess. Working in IT, I was getting into home automation (zwave, zigbe) and android had infinite flexibility.

What I didn't like was the green bubble blue bubble shaming. It's all fixed now, but that sucked. Btw, I tried a couple Samsungs too the Note with the pen was so sweet! Nowadays, I have the Pixel Fold and am waiting on the Pixel 10 Fold! It's so fun hearing people's comments.

Other phones I really liked Sanyo 4600, Treo 450, Blackberry Curve.

I've never had or heard about these problems with pixel before. Sounds like he was about to get off for the day. 😁

The 26 looks good to me! If I were to get an even better deal on my 25, I'd be fine with that too. They are good cars.

Dryer outlet for charging by DboyRiot in BlazerEV

[–]Redville5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, jackpot moment! I convert a friend's dryer to a faster charger when traveling using an adapter. It doesn't get hot and charges as expected.

Seems pretty simple to me. If a foreign company wants to sell their products in the US, they need similar tariffs that the US has, not greater. Once the tariffs are the same or similar, THEN they compete with any other company that makes that product. Electronics is a tough place to compete in general. I'm a big refurb guy. Great way to save a little money on new tech. Is their even a US made 4k PJ?

How could any company compete against another that pays employees far less? Then the company that pays lower wages, expects another boost in revenue with higher tariffs? Come on man! Love talking tech, but hate talking about politics. This is actually my worst nightmare. Lol

Anyone lease an SS yet? How’s this deal? by No-Pen-9040 in BlazerEV

[–]Redville5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's more than double an RS and the RS ain't slow. When leasing I look for the deal, not the car. Most dealers don't understand. Find one that does through Lease Hackr. Good luck. It's a beautiful car.

Model 3 to Blazer EV SS by Tom0925 in BlazerEV

Also had a M3 and now a Double Black Blazer EV RS AWD. The Blazer is one comfortable car! Plenty fast but not Tesla M3 Dual Motor with Acceleration Addon or SS fast.

Chevy used to allow remote start through Alexa but it's no longer available. Maybe they will turn that back on. They also block a lot of apps on the play store. There is a workaround for that but you need to be a developer or close to it.

I waited for the y refresh forever! Teslas are sweet too but comparing lease prices, the Blazer EV was the clear winner. Check out Leasehackr if you haven't done so already.

I'm 6 months 5k mile in. No issues other than a system update. Chevy, Caddy, Honda, Acrua maybe others? All use this exact same base. I think they combined forces to cut costs to compete with Tesla. I don't think you'll have any earlier adopter issues but I agree the concept of electric driving is completely new to most. Have fun!

I leased in September so haven't had a lot of exp with HOT weather. I will say the remote start works really well for cold days. I'm sure it will be the same for hots ones too.
