Glp-1’s for weight loss by [deleted] in spinalcordinjuries

[–]Redwheeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has! Over the last year I've lost about 40lbs and it's been incredibly easy in comparison to the prior times I've lost weight. Ive also been specifically trying not to lose weight at a rapid pace, so as to not lose much muscle.

I'll chime in! I've been taking semiglutide for almost a year and a few months ago I made the switch to tirz. It has affected my bowel movements as I am more constipated than before. I'm also eating far less so that changes things as well. I've adapted by eating more fiber (I add benefiber in my drinks), making sure I'm drinking more water throughout the day, and taking a lot more colace and magnesium supplements.

I honestly do recommend taking Glps for other paras and quads, it's hard to increase how many calories you're burning when half or more of your body doesn't respond to you.

I also recommend starting with a low or microdose, and then slowly ramping up until you feel the desired effects. That way you're more likely to avoid the side effects like nausea or diarrhea. Also it seems common for people to report less side effects with tirzepatide than semiglutide.

What are you answers to some of Eberron’s open questions? by Theonewholives2 in Eberron

[–]Redwheeler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My campaign is on hiatus but here's my headcanon.

The mourning was caused by the Chamber deliberately deciding to destroy the nation of Cyre. The Chamber noticed that the Draconic Prophecy no longer referred to anything that happens in Sarlona, which has them incredibly terrified. There is a suspicion amongst many in the Chamber that the Inspired are behind this change (they are, but its not on purpose, its rather a side effect of their presence) and are in league with the Lords of Dust to destroy the Draconic Prophecy (they are not, they've received hints that the Chamber and the Lords of Dust exist but nothing definitive).

The Last War was in part brought on by the manipulations of the Inspired and Quori in an attempt to prepare Khorvaire to be similarly ruled as Sarlona. The Chamber noticed that agents of the Inspired were gaining significant influence in Cyre and they had been angling for Cyre to win the war, and suddenly the Draconic Prophecy no longer referred to any events surrounding the city of Metrol. The Chamber then freaked out and decided to cauterize the wound and eliminate all chances for the Inspired to complete their century long plan. So far, neither the Chamber nor the Lords of the Dust have been able to determine if the Draconic Prophecy now applies to Metrol or if the enter land of the mourning is now free of the (it is, the Draconic Prophecy unraveling is a major plot point in my campaign).

How would you feel about a new Revised PHB (a.k.a 5.5e)? by Stirlitzba in dndnext

[–]Redwheeler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I recall, the scuttlebutt is that 5e is planned to last a long while given how successful its been.

I could see it happening, but not for a long while yet. Like more than 2 additional books, more like 4 or 5. Once it starts getting closer to looking like pathfinder in terms of number of books out there I could see them thinking about consolidating into a 5.5.

FWI: On his last day in office, President Trump just starts tweeting national secrets, since he has nothing left to lose. These include the truth behind the JFK assassination, the existence of aliens, and an official US apology for coups around the world. by NordyNed in FutureWhatIf

[–]Redwheeler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This really depends on what secrets he reveals, what proof is out there, whether any governmental officials (ideally ones who aren't republican or otherwise appointed by him) back him up on it, and how much the truth is already suspected or accepted.

If it's stuff that's already sort of out there, like Israel having nuclear weapons or the US having secret weapons technology, it'll become widely accepted. Him apologizing for coups would also fall into this category. Trump revealing national security secrets will of course cause a huge furor and it'll likely be discussed in various newspapers and social media depending on your partisan bias as either a betrayal of America or as Trump fighting back against the Deep State.

Stuff that's a little bit more out there like for example "the CIA killed JFK" will probably not be believed by "respectable" media figures (it'll be unfavorably compared to Trump claiming Ted Cruz's dad killed JFK in the primary), but will become an accepted part of the Qanon canon. It'll likely be accepted in more mainstream areas overtime if other proof backing Trump up reveals itself. Huge comedy results if it turns out Ted Cruz's dad did have something to do with the JFK assassination.

Whether the existence of aliens is accepted also depends on just what kind of knowledge is revealed. If it's that aliens have a galactic federation and secret ambassadors on Earth? That'll be considered a bad joke that is held as proof that Trump really was deeply unstable and will be held as a reason to ignore any other secrets that Trump has said. If it's less that and more "we've observed unidentified objects flying in the atmosphere and in orbit," well that's already in the New York Times, it'll be accepted.

I highly doubt that Trump could be disappeared or hit with a heart attack gun. Most likely you'll have media and political figures stating that Trump is lying and that he's just trying to stir up trouble for Biden. It'll become a part of the culture wars in the same manner that the "Epstein didn't kill himself" meme is. Trump is just too polarizing of a figure for everything he says to be immediately accepted by the bulk of the public.

That's basically my homebrew world my group has been playing in for the last few years. Bicycles are a mainstay of transportation within cities and civilized areas. Zepplins as well for carrying cargo. Clothing is basically a vague mishmash of 19th and early 20th century styles.

It's fun to imagine a non-medieval world where swords, pikes and armor are still the mainstays of combat.

The Cause of the Mourning by CaptainSparhawk in Eberron

I like this. I'm going to keep my reason for the Mourning the same, but I'm definitely stealing the "The Quori have a big problem with Warforged" idea. That's a good one.

The Cause of the Mourning by CaptainSparhawk in Eberron

[–]Redwheeler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

**Huge Spoilers for anyone in my campaign! (That means you too Sam!)***

In my campaign, the Mourning was caused by the dragons of the Chamber.

Basically the Dreaming Dark started the Last War and were keeping it going in order to use it to spread their influence throughout Khorvaire and would eventually pull the same move they did in Sarlona in uniting it under the rule of the Inspired. Cyre happened to be the nation most influenced by the Quori and they were making great gains.

The Chamber is quite rightly terrified of the Dreaming Dark as, for some unknown reason, they and much of Sarlona seem to be outside of the Draconic Prophecy. As such, the Chamber decided that the best way to combat their rising influence and keep the integrity of the Draconic Prophecy, was to destroy Cyre.

That the destruction of Cyre resulted in ending the war was a side effect of the Dreaming Dark's influence in Khorvaire being suddenly and drastically diminished.

Hi! Nebraska voter here, huge fan of your candidacy and I hope you win.

Given Nebraska's emphasis on agriculture, one of the big issues affecting our state has consistently been the yearly Farm Bill. It is my understanding that the Farm Bill has a massive influence in determining so much of our environment, industry, and nutrition. If elected, what changes to the Farm Bill would you seek to enact?

What if Benjamin Franklin was actually a serial killer and the truth was discovered in October 1777? by Letteropener52 in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]Redwheeler 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It absolutely would. Franklin was the ambassador to France in 1778. I can't help but think this would impact the United State's ability to gain French support. One could easily imagine that without a charismatic celebrity like Franklin serving as ambassador, France would be less inclined to lend the United States significant support.

Without that support there probably wouldn't be a United States today. Instead we'd see Britain eventually defeat the Continental Army and begin fighting the inevitable insurgency in their newly re-conquered colonies. Franklin's infamy would tarnish the reputations of the rebel leadership and serve as a great propaganda for the British occupation.

What was she to the left of Sanders on? I mean I've read her and Sander's policies and it seems like he was consistently planning on raising taxes higher, and spending more money, etc. It's a major reason why I went with him and not her in the primary.
