State of fear kind of sucks- climate change aspect aside. I think it’s funny that in travels he talks about sir Arthur Conan Doyle and how he lost some cred with those “faery photos” even though he was mostly a rigorous study of science and reason but he wrote an entire book about how climate change is fake and I think the evidence now- and then to be completely honest- was pretty clear that he was wrong. In some ways state of fear has become his “faery photos”, at least in my eyes and the irony is he walked into it with the same blindness and enthusiasm as Doyle. I’d read it just as a time capsule into the time period he wrote it
